Touching True Story of a Good Guy With a Gun Who Saved the Life of His Own Son

Touching True Story of a Good Guy With a Gun Who Saved the Life of His Own Son | They had already allocated his organs.

In 2015, Texas father George Pickering II
refused to accept doctors’ declaration that
his son was brain dead after a massive stroke.

Hospital staff began withdrawing life support &
had already contacted organ donation services.

Pickering took a stand & barricaded himself
inside the hospital room with a gun triggering
a tense three-hour SWAT standoff.

During negotiations, Pickering repeatedly
insisted his son was still alive.

Then came a moment that changed everything:
on command, his son squeezed his hand,
proving he was still responsive.

Pickering eventually surrendered peacefully
and spent nearly a year in jail for his actions.

Against all expectations, his son
survived and went on to recover.

Why did he spend time in jail when
he was just defending his son’s life?

When you are an organ donor, they try
to take you off life support pretty quickly. | image tagged in father's love, psa, organ donor, beware, good guy greg, guns | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I signed up for organ donation years ago. I am seriously thinking of changing that after reading so much about the tendency to throw in the towel prematurely on those designated as organ donors. Something for us all to think about... 🤔

All my parts are worn out with most needing upgrades. They aren't worth what the hospital wants to charge for them. They do tend to want take control of your body as quickly as possible to save others with "your" parts as soon as possible. Your wishes for them to wait become an obstacle to them making lots of money.

Worn parts are better than no parts and I'm sure the hospital would charge a ridiculous fee. It is all about the money and that is just so wrong.

I think you may have an inside track, D, so wouldn't be surprised if you stick around for a very long time. :) 😉

I don't think old, worn parts are in much demand by hospitals. Would Millennials or Gen Zers want a senior's kidney? LMAO!

In 2023 I was in a coma and brain dead. Doctors wanted to take me off life support. My brother refused. He pointed out I'd cheated death 2 years earlier in my first Coma when they called my family in and said "his organs are shutting down. He'll be dead by midnight."
When they told me I'd been brain dead I didn't believe it. I didn't think you could come back from that. Then I saw it on my discharge papers.
13 of us have come back from brain death.
God decides these things, not Medical Science.

Amazing story! I think your unique experience warrants more than just conversation...that is book material! It would be a great help to others & even if you only saved one other life, that would still be quite an accomplishment.

So glad you made it....you have a lot to say that is of great value to other thoughtful conservatives.

Praise God!

A lady at Church had stage 3-4 cancer about three or four times and should be dead by now. Still alive and cancer receded each time.

Yes, coming so close to death has that effect on people. Truly inspired by the situation, they go out to do good deeds and try to do what they can to bring sunshine into everybody's life. They love everyone because now they love life and appreciate it.

Thank goodness God was there in the otherwise useless hospital with all their medical staff and life support machinery.

Hospitals are motivated by money so all their devices are geared toward making money instead of saving lives. Like the anti parasite curing cancer. It was known in scientific studies for decades but its just now coming to the public eye.

Hospital saves my lives. God saves money from the collection basket.

No one has to believe that.
No one has to go to the hospital either if they don't believe that.

Sure some lives are saved at hospitals, mostly with technology developed before the 1980s. For instance stomach ulcers used to be big business for big pharma, but then one scientist found out the it was caused by a microbe and discovered antibiotics that fixed it. Big pharma lost ridiculous sums of money in treatment protocols. From then on they aggressively fight anyone that tries to test cures for things.
While working at Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) in the 1970s, Ralph Moss discovered that the top research scientist there was impressed with the anti-cancer properties of amygdalin, the synthetic form of which is laetrile. At that time, laetrile was a topic of national interest as a low-cost way of treating cancer. It would have been big news if SKI announced that laetrile was effective in animal studies and then conducted human trials of its efficacy. But due to pressure from unknown sources, Moss’s superiors chose to publicly deny the validity of their scientist’s research. Moss and other dissenting staff tried to gain press attention for the cover-up going on at SKI, but their efforts failed. In 1979, the FDA ban on the interstate sale of laetrile was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, effectively ending the common use of it. It has been classified by the cancer establishment as a classic case of “quackery,” meaning that those who claim it has anti-cancer properties are frauds. Thus, this case study shows how easily information about potentially effective cancer treatments can be suppressed by a handful of people in positions of authority. It also shows how politics can change the scientific information available to the public.

Life continues to become ever-more extended with new developments in medical technology.

But I have a solution for the conflicted, this going back to the early 80s, during my Punk Rock days. There was a large segment who bore a certain antagonism towards the police. What I used to say back then is, if you don't like the cops, don't dial 911 when you need them.

No one has to receive medical care, as any Jehovah's Witness can tell you. Hospitals are overcrowded as is, Fundamentalist Christians can stay home instead of wasting valuable hospital bed space. Let Yahweh take care of them while they condemn His very own Chosen to Hell for not accepting that one day on a day that is not yet today God Jr is going to come back and cast the Romans out of Judea and reestablish the country.

I don’t know how his court case turned out, but I think he has a very good argument for using lethal force in defense of life.

I was never an organ donor. I don't want to worth more dead than alive, per insurance bean counters.

I stopped being an organ donor when I got my driver's lisence a few days ago. Sometimes they don't even wait for you to be brain dead to harvest your organs. Very evil organization.
6 ups, 4d
Nothing shocking about the hospital being too anxious to harvest his organs. The shocking thing is that he went to jail. Smh

Mothers are usually right and in this case, your mother proved it once again, AD! Good for her for seeing it when many of us were unaware. The more I read, the more I realize the dark side of it.

I always respected Doctors for their sacrifices in order to help people but they fell off the pedestal when it became obvious during Covid that the good ones were questioning the blood clots, the sudden deaths, etc. while those in it for the money were supporting Fauci & Big Pharma.

I am on the fence with this one, I know a few people that have benefited from organ donations. It does sounds like the father was right in this case. The ability to know who is really brain dead and can't recover also seems to be questionable. Nothing I have read indicates a massive desire to declare people brain dead just to harvest organs, although that should be easy to determine with simple searches comparing hospitals that do them.
5 ups, 3d,
1 reply
This really should be cut and dry. The father should have every right to have life support for his son, provided he or some insurance company is paying for it. The doctors have no right to pull the plug so quickly. That is all up to the family. On top of all that, clearly, the doctors had no idea what they are doing.

Modern medicine is 90% cult mentality and indoctrination...

The sentence and the result were never the issue, he was probably charged because he threated the doctors, staff and public with a firearm.

Yeah, conservatives built this country, first by being representatives of the British Crown, and then later by the exploitation of slaves and the wholesale slaughtering of Native Americans and everything else that came in their path.

Modda, this is a prime example of you making things up that are so nonsensical just to fit your narrative
If conservatives look up to the founding fathers, and the founding fathers were liberal, thats not logic. Thats a paradox
0 ups, 2d
Well conservatism nowdays is not going so far back. Conservatism is about conserving america
I'm striving for our nation's morality to go back to when it was common sense to not be atheist, common sense to not call yourself the wrong gender, common sense to not murder, and things like that
