Actually the George Wallace comparison makes perfect sense. He was pushing a racist ideology back in his day, much like you are pushing a racist ideology today, only difference is which race you're deciding to support. He was also running for President on the Democrat ticket as recently as 1976 and was actually still Alabama's governor during the 80's.
"In his, 1968 run Wallace was a foreign-policy isolationist running against the Vietnam War (“like pouring money down a drain”)"
First off, grammar much? Second, why are you using the point that Wallace was against the Vietnam War? Unless you're a John Bolton/Dick Cheney-esque warhawk or you run a company called Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, or some other defense contractor, war is seen as a bad thing. And Wallace turned out to be completely right. Lyndon B. Johnson wasted American lives and dollars on a pointless war against a man, Ho Chi Minh, who was not our enemy until we made him so. At least Nixon (holy crap, credit to Richard Nixon of all people) started withdrawing people as soon as he came into office. It certainly wasn't perfect, but credit where credit is due.
George Wallace was a racist. You are a racist. I don't care what skin color you support or oppose, you are both racists and I oppose you. Dr. King had a dream and I support his dream 100%. I judge a man based on his character, not his skin color, and I will teach my children and grandchildren the same, as well as anyone else willing to listen, no matter how much racist trash you try pumping in their brains.
