There is a girl I like on TikTok who I've been following for about 10 months, but the account I started following her on never allowed me to comment.
A couple weeks ago, this account got banned, so she started a new one. This new account did allow me to comment, so I left a comment giving my sympathy about her account getting banned and how I missed all of her old videos (hundreds of videos going back to 2017). She liked my comment and asked me who I was, so I explained to her. She seemed to like me and actually followed me back (even though I don't make any videos myself).
But the next day I completely screwed it up - I came onto her WAY too strong and I ended up creeping her out and she blocked me. I had just been following her for so long that I felt like I had gotten to know her, and I didn't stop to consider that she didn't know me, and I was also dealing with something that was very frustrating and disappointing (my job closing permanently due to Covid).
This girl was my favorite TikToker, and now I feel completely devastated that she doesn't like me because I blurted out something dumb.
I hope she will come to forgive me...
Moral of the story: disabling comments can prevent you from receiving hate, but it can also block off people who really like you/your content, and frustrate them.
