Good grief Octavia, it's hyperbole. You're back to the point where I can always hear the whining in what you post.

Nope. I'm going out on a limb here by speculating that you're easily fascinated.

I’m always fascinated by partisan hackery.

And how it persists after so many years of losing.

Yes, me as well. And a very measured response to my snarky comment. Not that I deserved it, but thanks for taking the high road this time.

Of course, to you, it does

And it looks (sounds) like you are saying that with glee. Always looking to flag someone

Government is not in the business of solving problems. It is in the business of creating problems and stealing our money to pay for the mess they created. And because they have no clue how to fix that mess they just steal more money and say we'll get it right this time.

And if there are any Democrats here, could you name one single government program that has ever solved anything?

That old man was a freakin' genius! Hell, I've always thought of him as an old man, but by current POTUS standards he wasn't even close to being an old man!

If they can't come to a compromise and the country defaults, the citizens should demand the immediate resignation of all involved. Those are natural and logical consequences.

But it will never happen. While lots of people like to complain ("free speech") and some are actually intelligent thinkers, almost no one takes action. Our citizenry has become more sleepy than Sleepy Joe, and more willing to live in the Matrix than Joey Pants' character.

Are you saying the Democrats have accomplished this?

Where can I buy a pair of blinders like that?
1 up, 1y
No in the mid 60s this was happening, and the democrats really solved that problem.

lmfao yea they are doing great

It found that a majority of the 73.7 million American children under age 18 live in families with two parents (69 percent)—a decrease from 88 percent in 1960. Of those 50.7 million children living in families with two parents, 47.7 million live with two married parents and 3 million live with two unmarried parents.

Broken down by race, however, the statistics show stark differences. The percentage of White children under 18 who live with both parents almost doubles that of Black children, according to the data. While 74.3 percent of all White children below the age of 18 live with both parents, only 38.7 percent of African-American minors can say the same.

According to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the number one killer of black males ages 10-35 is homicide, indicating a higher rate of violence than any other group. Black females are four times more likely to be murdered by a boyfriend or girlfriend than their white counterparts, and although intimate partner violence has declined for both black and white females, black women are still disproportionately killed.

Knocking it outta the park !

Yeah, the democrats did a really good job of solving the problem.

I agree.

I see far too many people relying on government.

Government to tell them how to worship by placing commandments instead of laws outside of state buildings.

Government granting parents more authority over public schools.

Government supplying them protections to discriminate and calling it religious freedom.

Government deciding what is and isn’t a mental disability or a harmful disease despite the consensus of the medical community.

Government telling corporations how to run them and punishing them if they don’t put America First.

Government deciding what medical procedures are safe or not safe, again ignoring the medical community and the minority who are quite willing to pay for them.

Government deciding what a public facilities such as library or a school can and can’t have. Which would make sense! If it were the actual majority of the public who funds them deciding what was best and not appealing to the offended loud minority.

Government cutting funding to public facilities and diverting them to private facilities that the majority cannot afford.

Government protecting them from so-called immigration invasions.

Government protecting them from economic downturns and inflations.

Government protecting them from social media and shadow bans!

And last but not least, Government telling them by their own funded media what to say, and what they call “thinking” by using mere political spin and doublespeak instead of facts. And that any media that seemingly contradicts them as fake; especially when they’re not.

It appears the Republican Party relies quite a lot on government nowadays.

Regan once said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

Make no mistake, the government should protect the public from the government. Pretending the public needs protection from itself is exactly what Reagan was warning about.

Yet how many political rallies have you attended? How much have you donated to a person running for office? How much media do you consume that is only politically aligned to your beliefs? How much free advertisement have you given your politicians by wearing their merchandise? How many times have you endorsed the government’s choice over the public’s by defending the Electoral College?

If you’ve ever done or supported these things and claimed you aren’t the government’s lackey, I’m afraid I have some very bad news for you.

The great society legislation from LBJ did most of that.
0 ups, 1y
And, from what I recall, the education portion of that legislation has been mostly expanded with each successive President since.

But I fail to see how increasing funding, and federal and state scrutiny over education had an effect on parental authority.

And those same renewed modern expansions appear to be overwhelmingly supported by conservatives and/or Republicans in general.
