If there is any scientific progress in Islam, it is in spite of Islam, not because of it, since almost everything is haram (forbidden). Islam means submission. Islam is intolerant, sexist, homophobic, imperialist, totalitarian, and regressive in every way. It relies on an unchangeable text, subject to strict interpretation. This text depends on a single source, a single person, a self-proclaimed prophet, who is violent and pedophilic. It compels believers to subjugate all non-Muslims by force and to kill anyone who refuses to submit. In fact, Islam continues to kill non-Muslims in many parts of the world today, simply for not being Muslim.
In the beginning, they couldn't read, and thanks to that, they were more tolerant than they are now. Algebra is Indian, not Muslim. Most of their knowledge comes from other cultures, not from Muslims.
