Did you just gender assume my child? They/them are only in the fifth grade. They/them have yet to identify as anything, let alone my daughter or my son. I simply call they/them my child. Have some respect.

That said, if I showed up and they were teaching my child, I’d projectile vomit all over their face.

Assault? For an involuntary bodily function? You must be a blast at parties.

Heavy Metal vomit parties as mentioned on The Breakfast Club?

See, I take my kid to private school, so my money says who will be teaching. Feel bad for those who can't afford to home school or private school their kids.

I go to a private school and same. Except there a a bunch of kids like this who go there now because otherwise they’d be online. One of my friends is genderfluid and pansexual. Several of the people I used to hang out are bi, and five of my friends are straight (at least four of them are the fifth one I’m not sure) but they all support it. And I go to a Christian private school with an extremely conservative principle. This is getting ridiculous. Not to mention the constant vape smell in the girls bathroom and the fear that you might accidentally say something about your beliefs that offends someone else- when it should be a school where everyone has similar beliefs.

Not the one my kid go to. Very strict, they are even mandatory uniforms. Then again I live at the Bible belt. But I was VERY intentional when selecting a school. Stay strong.

Well then again I live in Portland Oregon so. Also so was I, and although the new principle is very conservative, he is a lot more lenient on who he lets in school than our old one. It used to be like 200 people in the school for all four grades, now there are almost 80 kids in just the freshman class and a whole bunch of new sophomores came in as well.

Wake myself up from my nightmare and remember that if I ever have children they will not be sent to a public school.

Use a vacation day once or twice a month and sit in the class for the day.

Tell the person that dropped them off that they were meant to go to a homeschool and never drop them off at public school again.

If the teacher doesn't understand English then why would you want her.. excuse me, it to teach your children?

If you're referring to "they", it's not just a plural pronoun. The word "they" also refers to a single person of unspecified gender. You seriously need basic English taught to you?

Hey!! Stop it. You're ruing my joke.

They and them are not singular. The only reason they and them are being used as singular today is to accommodate the left's insatiable deserve to remove gender from our language. It started long before this insane notion that there are more than 2 genders and that genders can be anything you want them to be.

"They" has always been used as a singular pronoun when a person's gender is not known. Example: There's a patient downstairs. They need medical attention.

It was considered improper English until becoming more accepted as a gender neutral pronoun.

All languages change over time. The vast majority of the time it happens naturally. But for the left it is forced. It started before the phrase "politically correct" was coined to explain it.

I do not believe language changes should be forced. Especially when it all comes from one specific political party.

I see absolutely no reason to remove gender from our language. I see no reason why to strike certain words or phrases because one person in that political party finds it offensive. It is not long before the replacement word is also replaced for the exact same reason.

The latest example of this forced change is making they and them third person singular. It simply makes no sense, as do all of these forced changes that come from the left.

In other words I find them double plus bad.

Almost. It was actually the Quakers who decided it should be considered improper English, before they came along nobody had any kind of problem with it. Even at the time, there was a lot of discussion centered around the argument that since people use it all the bloody time, overly inflexible grammaticists can sit their assess down.

Epicenes have been part of standard English since the 14th Century. Shakespeare was not accommodating today's leftists when he did it. Geoffrey Chaucer was not accommodating today's leftists when he did it. That is complete nonsense.

English was never a strictly gendered language. Some words are gendered, some or not. It is not like Spanish were nearly every word is gendered and the gender of the word many times determine it's meaning.

What I oppose is the forced neutering of our language for the sake of one political party. Nearly all of the changes in the English language since perhaps the 60's maybe longer ago have come from the left. The party that has fully embraced socialism over freedom. These changes, then, are much like Nuspeak in Orwell's novel 1984.

The changes that are not based on politics I have no objection to. That is just the natural evolution of language.

What I am essentially saying is I will not be dictated to speak in any manner for political reasons. I will not refer to someone as they/them when it is clear that the person is a he/him or a she/her. It is insanity to refer to them by some make believe gender and even more egregious when it is forced by law.

If you want to play make believe with your life that is your choice, just do not force me to play along.

You know what? You're right. I'd give her a chance. And if I hear one peep about CRT, gender theory, or how "socialism works", THEN I'd start homeschool.

Lol. That’s funny. First, because nobody would ever choose to procreate with you. So it’s a real stretch for any of us to imagine that you’d have a kid. And second, because you waited until you dropped her off to double check for her lunch and tell her where you were picking her up. She’s in the fifth grade; you pick her up where you picked her up last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. And if she didn’t have her lunch, you’d have to go back home and then go into the office to leave it for her. It’s a good thing you liberals don’t work and have time to go back and forth from home to school. And then be back there to pick her up in less than 8 hours.

As much as I hate to agree with stanhalen, his point is that it's not a big deal. He intentionally chose mundane things that any parent might do when dropping off thier kid. Either you're an idiot who somehow missed the point or an asshole who is purposefully ignoring it and going off on a tangent to distract from it.
It's not a big deal. I personally don't like gender neutral pronouns and titles because it feels unnatural for me to say when talking about an individual person. But meh.
Now, it could become a big deal if this person flys off the handle when accidentally gendered by a child, instead of gently correcting them. But it's impossible to ascertain if that'll be the case base on one initial picture/impression. Based on the picture, this person seems laid back and would gently correct them.

I just get annoyed by this stuff because I don't want to care but it feels forced down my throat when it never was before-hand
