Perhaps I overreacted a bit, misunderstanding your tone.
Switched accounts a few months ago and some folks who used get on well with me but don't know who I now am seem... different. So cynicism takes a hold and I get snippy,,,
Unemployment is going down but that's including the usual numbers not being counted for being out of the officially seeking employment rolls.
We have a severe shortage of labor - those formally stuck at minimum wage leaving for better jobs (good for them) in such numbers some places can't operate, not enough dock workers has lead to a huge amount ships stuck at sea waiting - heck, even women are being hired in record numbers for trucking as they too have been facing a shortage.
Hipsters moved back home to Ohio.
From those trust funders to even more affluent folks, NYC had accumulated a large amount of vacancies as they departed. They have been trickling back to reduced rents lately. Now while that may seem like a good thing, that's been the case mainly for these gentrifiers and their upscale abodes of choice as real New Yorkers of lesser means with nowhere else to go are competing for less options as less fancy places got swamped in the last 2 years, so thus facing higher rents.
There's a shortage of chips, of car parts, of foodstuffs, thus higher prices and a shortage of products. This isn't exactly news. Got a car you've been wantng to trade in or sell, now's the time.
Among Beau's final words and wishes as he lay in his death bed because of cancer, one was begging his father to promise to not let Hillary run. Joe promised him that he wouldn't, that he'd still run instead. Of course he didn't keep that promise, offcially because the death didn't leave him in the mood, but given how the DNC screwed Bernie, everyone knows they had urged Biden to step aside. Not like he hasn't gone through death like this before.
If he ran, he would have won. Hillary AKA Bill Ch.II was more the trad lesser of two evils option that the minions were supposed to dutifully vote for.
Trump got as may votes as Romney did. Hillary lost to Hillary. I was never a fan of Biden but like many, found him at least preferable to her.
Mt Rushmore - sarcasm?
Biden wants to leave his big mark, a legacy. That's the point of this infrastructure bill of which many think is hardly the best time with that price tag. Sure, jobs come with it, but at a huge expense that isn't the burden of choice for many trying to crawl back from the near end of the world.
