Is it wrong that I'm thinking about getting a bucket of popcorn to wait for everybody's two "favorite" trolls to arrive here with their usual shenanigans, insults, and cop outs?

You're not one of them Octavia, I don't consider you a troll. I actually have a lot of respect for you. Yeah we but heads but your arguments are intelligent. I'm primarily thinking of SukaMadik with that one template of his that he uses. I've gotten to the point where I try not to argue with him, I prefer to just sit back and observe when he shows up lol.

Iaonsite...to a lesser degree. I have at least seen him make some good one liners on memes not involving politics. That said, there are a few up and comers. I suppose my problem is that I'm guilty of feeding into that kind of behavior instead of just laughing and walking away.

I've seen Iaonsite in non-political Threads, and I've actually agreed with their statements there as often as not (to the point I do a double take at the user name)...

can't say I've seen SukaMadik outside of the political memes... and the hyperbole with which they post (see above) all but screams 'Trolling' as I'd like to think a 'True Believer' would know to temper their comments if they were actually looking to change minds

So we want to ban assault rifles, and stop real world violence, yet you say that we support killing and torturing....right, because that makes sense. You people blame anything or anyone but yourselves. Kids are shooting up schools? Its the video-game's fault. Murderers are running loose through our streets? It's the liberals fault. It's never your fault, is it? Oh no, never YOUR fault, always someone else. Some stuff does fall on our plate, however, you never own up to it. And by the way, you hate people for being people, think about that.
3 ups, 7y
no. I was kidding. I was just commenting on how stupid it was that republicans thought that we supported those sorts of people. No sane person is going to support such an awful group like MS-13. I'm a liberal myself, and I don't support AR-15s either.
4 ups, 7y,

You can't ban assault rifles. Assault rifles are only in the military. And a .22 cal rifle is hardly any assault rifle. You need to stop being told what to think! Any kind of gun ban will only hurt the law abiding citizens. The bad guys will always have a gun and can easily get a gun. Drugs are 100% illegal and how is that working out in the world? Democrats have their sanctuary cities where any illegal is put back on the street, even from murder. And the Democrats are huge on downplaying ms13 and saying they're not as bad as people make them out to be. Fckn ridiculous! Oh, and every school shooting, that shooter was a Democrat supporter. Do tell me what's MY fault. Or the right side's fault.
2 ups, 7y,

We don't put murderers back on the street, we put healthy people back on the street who have been given the correct mental treatment that they needed. Every school shooter? What about Columbine? 13 people (12 Students, 1 Teacher) were gunned down horrifically by two men with fire arms. (Eric and Dylan) These men were not only Nazis, but were also white supremacists. Last time I checked, "Nazi" was on the right side of the political spectrum. You say we cannot ban guns by giving a crude example. 'Because we have banned drugs, people still get them, so if we ban guns people will still get guns.' You need to open your mind and actually think. If people will still get guns, then we need to close the loop holes and make the laws as tight as possible. You people need to see past the bridge of your nose and look at the facts. PEOPLE ARE DYING, and it's not going to stop until we smack down some laws. Stop the on-line and gun show buying, strengthen the laws, put up curfews, require a strong back-round check, preform physiological tests to check the mental health of buyers or owners, do anything to stop the senseless killings, and then, and only then, will we have the high ground on the matter. People are dying. PEOPLE like you or me. That share your beliefs, your religion, your hobbies and passions. Human beings, that are being gunned down because a psycho with a gun who comes into there class rooms, or there offices, and ends there life. 13 at Columbine High, 1999. 32 at VA Tech, 2007. 17 at Stoneman Douglas, 2018. 10 at Santa Fe, 2018. Children and adults alike are being slaughtered, and we can stop it. So don't you see? It's not about just taking your guns or being evil Liberals, were just trying to save lives. Thats what we have been doing, thats what we are doing, and thats what we will do in the future. This isn't about a political view gap, this is about coming together and attempting to save a couple of lives. Isn't that what matters?

"Nazi" is on the right side? ok, ok. Black thugs that are democrat supporters are responsible for murders every day. 13 people killed at Columbine. There was over 13 people killed by black thugs each week. 13 killed by a right in a year. Over 300 killed by lefties.
2 ups, 6y
I apologize, but I believe you are mistaken, no, I know you are mistaken. "Nazi" ( Nazism
Political ideology
National Socialism, more commonly known as Nazism, is the ideology and practices associated with the Nazi Party – officially the National Socialist German Workers' Party – in Nazi Germany, and of other far-right groups with similar aims. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism) is on the right side of the political spectrum, right next to "Fascism" (Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism) Also, I guarantee that if someone is trying to save lives, they are not going to go out and end some. The entire idea that, "Liberals shoot more people a year than Conservatives!" is bullshit.

MS 13 was specifically singled out as 'animals', a term which is offensive to animals... the Media implied the term was meant to apply to all Immigrants... (and in-turn implied that MS 13 were Innocent Immigrants)
3 ups, 7y,

The, "singled out as 'animals', a term which is offensive to animals...," part is correct.

As for the rest:

1. Media initially misunderstood the context Trump was using the term for, erroneously believing it was meant to apply to all immigrants.

2. Pelosi hopped on it, criticizing Trump without knowing the actual context.

3. Media corrected their error.

4. Alt right disinformation bots still hopped on Pelosi's quote out of context (intentionally), claiming that she said that MS 13 were innocent immigrants.

5. Now the quote that was taken out of context about the quote that was taken out of context is 'true' because a plethora of memes sez so.

"...initially misunderstood the context Trump was using the term for, erroneously believing..."

I am dubious of this assertion. I suspect it is far more likely that they knew *precisely* what he meant, and chose to spin it into the worst possible way. Because that's been their modus operandi going all the way back to Nixon.
1 up, 7y,

Nixon as victim of politically slanted media lies seems a curious take on it given that he did step down for a reason.

In terms of agenda engendered deliberate distortions, we do know that the Pelosi/Dems MS13 non quote is exactly that. The same standard you're applying in regards to Nixon should apply to anyone, Pelosi included.
1 up, 7y,
1 reply
See? This is an example of how things get spun around and twisted.

I never said Nixon was a victim of slanted media coverage. I said that slanted media coverage began about that same time frame. Ford, Reagan, Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney, and now Trump. And it has become progressively (pardon the pun) worse as time has passed.

I'm not going to touch anything that falls out of Nancy Pelosi's mouth, because frankly the foot odor is just too strong.

On balance, I first in line to call out pundits who criticized BHO for his '57 states' comment. Anyone who has ever been part of a national political campaign, or toured with a rock band understood his joke perfectly. He knows how many states there are, he was making a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fatigue associated with that kind of a fast-paced schedule. I called into a local conservative radio show to call the host out on this B.S., and I was lumped in with the rest of you left wingers on the air for my trouble and I'm about as conservative as you get.

Who is "you left wingers" - the opposing cheerleading squad in this video game the kidz play?

Got it now, Nixon wasn't a victim of a slanted media but it started in regards to him and then unto only all the rest of the sad Repubs. Yeah, I heard it on Fox too.

I take it you forgot the crap hurled at George HW Bush by even more Repubs than Dems? The what-in-disguise they called him? Oh, and "W_ _ _ _"? WHO called him that, saying the former head of the CIA would be inept in terms of foreign affairs?

"...Who is "you left wingers"...

I mean that as a term of endearment, not to trigger you. You got something against left-wingers? If you are one, then own it, take it as a complement. I can never understand why leftists get mad when you call them "leftists". I don't get mad when someone calls me a "right-winger". I am significantly right of center on most issues, after all.

"...take it you forgot the crap hurled at George HW Bush by even more Repubs than Dems..."

Who? John McCain? But no, you're right. And Reagan got it even worse from members of his own party. Not the point. Politicians and pundits don't have to be impartial, no one expects Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, or Laura Ingraham to be anyone other than who they are. They make NO pretense of journalistic objectivity. But Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, or (please shoot me up the leg with a cattle prod) Chris Matthews? At least as partisan as Hannity, but they wear this imaginary flak vest of "journalist" that they think ought to protect them from criticism while they're oozing bias from every oily pore. Sorry, but that dog don't hunt.

Walter Cronkite would be spinning in his grave if he could see what the fourth estate has become.

"...re-edited this like the other one because I was getting a tad snippy..."

You mean you can get snippier? That might be entertaining...

Who is "you left wingers" is a very simple question which you haven't answered.

Guns get triggered (aagh! please dont't tell the NRAers I said that!), tho I am glad you didn't call me snowflake or, EGADS! a t-r-o-l-l. So once the vals kick in, my elevated cortisol levels should lower. The endearment helped too, I must admit *hugs*

Yeah, I'm pre pre online gen (only been on since 11/14/13), so words are just words to me, even out in the world with real people.

Heckers, I'm old enough to remember Nixon, and thus Reagan, and that boy was worshipped by Repubs. You think his ascendancy into (R)Godhood started in 2016?

This has all been very educashunul, but I'm bored with it already.

What does my English have to do with anything about the subject at hand? There was no need to freak out and turn into a grammar Nazi. Just stick to the subject.

And I can tell you get your news from CNN. It's quite obvious.

And so you think that because you hate someone (which if CNN were hiring actual news reporters and not opinionated talking heads, they'd be considered a more legitimate news source) you can start supporting gangs like ms-13 over a sitting president that clearly stated they were animals? Wow, you're delusional.

Citing someone in a lame appeal to authority bid without knowing the credz of this alleged authority (prior to his shooting his owned hand fed farmed big game because, as you stated, his aim sucks nuggets real bad, Ted 'The Nuge' Nugent was something of a rock star since his Amboy Dukes days starting in 19friggin63 and onto his solo act in 1975 and then some forgettable MTV crap in the mid 80s after which he thankfully disappeared. Yes, the guy was actually quite the lead guitarist and singer, his ditty, "Cat Scratch Fever," known to the hard rock geezers of the era) is even embarrasing to the fallacy itself.

Also known to only EVERYBODY back then was this bit from YOUR Wikipedia:

"In 1978, Nugent began a relationship with seventeen-year-old Hawaii native Pele Massa. Due to the age difference, they could not marry so Nugent joined Massa's parents in signing documents to make himself her legal guardian, ..."

His song "Jailbait" is exactly what you hope it won't be about, and he has BRAGGED about engaging in sex with the underage.

I don't actually have "heroes." If you look at what I wrote about ad hominems versus logic higher up in the thread - which from experience would be a hell of an intellectual reach for you - you'd get that I cite arguments NOT as arguments from authority - you extraordinary dolt - but because they are constructs of logic that stand on their own.

You never were the sharpest knife in the drawer, and you obviously haven't improved since.

You're not only a flagrant liar, but an incredibly stupid one as well.
Can't even keep your lies straight, though watching them flop over each other as you whine in triggered desperation is pure joy.

In addition to him adopting her for sexual purposes, he has had 5 children of his own. So your Google app is lying as well as your Wiki entry.

Feel free to continue on how I've been trolling you for centuries, the pleasure is all mine.

You're too stupid to grasp that defense means (1) believing he did it and then (2) making an excuse for it. Since the second statement shows I mistakenly believed - based on that keyword search - that there was no info in the entry, part 1 is impossible. Therefore I never lied. The same might not be said for you.

I already proved in at least two separate posts I never defended the act nor worshiped the guy but simply used his formulation of a self-evident rationality. If Joseph Stalin says 2=2=4, it does not become false. That however not only never sank in your thick skull, it's clearly not possible for anything resembling reason to.

Honestly, ascribing you an IQ in the low single digits was probably generous :-O

People like you and I that share your beliefs and opinions are being gunned down by psychos with fire arms. Of course humans do play a part in the killings, obviously, but we can prevent them from shooting others if we take guns, like the AR-15 of the street.
