Agreed. Everything in that post... I agree. And you know I was lucky with the kids... Sure, they were rebellious, but nothing some consistency and discipline didn't fix. It was probably more their Mom's doing than me, because they all turned out great. She was a little tougher than I was on the discipline, but we presented a united front. One thing I did that I think paid off the most was never giving them the answer with their homework. If they couldn't get the answer to a problem, we'd talk, and I'd explain how I would go about solving whatever the problem was. My goal of course was to teach them HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I'm not a brainwasher. I believe you'll come up with the right solution more times than not if you can think for yourself. (something most lefties can't seem to do...) I don't even know their politics and I don't care. But I think one is a lib, and one married a lib, so clearly my approach was not 100% successful!...! But even the married lib is a great guy. We do talk politics a bit, but unlike dealing with libs here on the mighty imgflip, we talk like two adults who actually have respect for each other. (his arguments for lib policies aren't any better tho...)
