For 60+ years, the scientific and medical communities understood that masks can only prevent large droplets from entering a surgical opening, but that they are wholly unable to prevent the spread of airborne infectious disease. Yes, the type of mask can certainly be an issue. I've had to explain this to a fashion-trendy young boy that liked the look of neck gaiters and thought they would be good for winter to protect his neck and use as a mask. Unfortunately, I told him that those were often found to be uneffective. When we went to the airport, security gave him a medical mask to wear as such masks had been banned by the TSA and he had to begrudgingly wear it.

Silly, tho. Considering all we did was go to the bar and have a chat. We were going to have to take them off anyway. But even with internal national travel can be a pain the neck.

I take note of these things and it doesn't bother me. It appears 14% of the people in public will have their nose out with their masks below. However, I just keep my distance and move on.

It is science but it is also a huge inconvenience to the general public. Hence why some people, like you, would just rather conclude that masks don't work if people are going to wear them wrong, wear the wrong type, etc.

Dude- you need to spend more time in the real world. Use a public restroom once in a while- people still do not wash their hands, nor do they try and avoid touching the door handles.

Then according to you, the numbers which are cross referenced and verfied across sever cities, states, and medical analysts have been falsified or the people whom claim covid is far deadlier were just using the forsight of baby boomers dying off all in the span of two or three years for some kind of political agenda.
