“Picking a side” does not mean you must disagree on everything. However, in today’s political highly-charged political environment, “picking a side” does mean being able to make a decision which of the two major political parties represents your values best, and which one will take the country in the direction you think it needs to go.

While I might some areas of common ground with a Democrat running for office, it’s not nearly enough that I would ever back one of them for any elected office, as all Democrats tend to march pretty much in lock-step with the Democratic Party agenda, and I want to suppress the Democratic Party agenda, as I do not like the direction they want to take our country.

So, “picking a side”, the Democratic Party or the Republican Party, is a very easy choice for me, as I find the Democratic Party agenda to be extremely racist, anti-American, and anti-science.

Therefore, I do not have any trouble whatsoever picking which “side” to back.

Clatsop, thanks for a great attempt to bring a bit of common sense to the issue! Carrick is not an ignorant person by any means and neither is Octavia. But, Reagan said it best...“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.” I think Carrick is a lot closer to conservatism than liberalism whereas Octavia is a liberal.

I just wish Carrick could go full steam against the liberal actions and mentality because I think he is well aware of how 'evil' they are yet he chooses to spend time ragging on conservatives. I stand by my road kill meme as he just straddles the fence too much for me. Octavia and I disagree 99% of the time (but there is that 1% of the time we do agree).

Carrick, isn't the border invasion enough to put you on a mission to support conservatives? Trump improved it far more than any president had ever done. Seriously, those who CARE about Americans or America should UNITE against an illegal invasion of unvetted/untested people (during Covid season) relying on taxpayer dollars for their support from day one. I find that people still claiming to be moderates in today’s highly-charged political environment are just being disingenuous. They’ve picked a side, but they like pretending they haven’t picked a side in an attempt to feel morally superior.

To me, when I see someone claim that they are moderate, I start with the assumption that they are not being intellectually honest.
