Casio sighed (or at least calculated the sigh's value in sine). He remembered the days when he was the classroom hero, solving the square roots of the universe and crunching numbers to save the day. But now, the students marveled at Tiara’s effortless curve plotting and matrix manipulation. She was the new star, and he... well, he was relegated to backup duty in Mr. Anderson’s dusty drawer.

Tiara’s display flickered with curiosity. She’d noticed Casio’s wistful demeanor, the way he’d emit a soft beep when left behind during algebra sessions.

“Hey,” she said softly, her pixels forming words in their private calculator language. “Why so down? You’re still pretty sharp. Your logarithmic calculations are legendary.”

Casio blinked, his screen momentarily displaying "HELLO." “I suppose my days of glory are behind me. The students adore you. You’re modern, fast, precise... what am I compared to that?”

“Charming,” Tiara replied, her pixels forming a playful heart. “There’s something timeless about the way your buttons feel—so classic. They don’t make calculators like you anymore.”

Casio’s circuits warmed, a feeling he hadn’t experienced since he’d solved his first quadratic equation. “But you—you’re the future, Tiara. What could a relic like me possibly offer you?”

Casio’s screen hesitated, then lit up with “143” (calculator code for "I love you"). Tiara responded with a flashing “<3.” For the first time, Casio felt more than just a machine—he felt alive.
