I remember when I was about 12 I used to play SimCity alot. For anyone unaware it's a game where you're 'mayor' and you build the entire city from scratch and run the whole thing.
I remember about 100 times where I started a new map with the absolute certainty that I know the perfect layout and system for the city to function and develop perfectly, only for it to go into a disaster spiral by the 5th year.
Crime. Fires. Traffic. Debt. Abandoned buildings.
Turns out that the repeated reality of unintended and unforseen consequences hitting you in the face can really screw up the whole 'i know best' mentality...
