Socialism does work in the only places that have had it, like Kibbutzes in Israel and Jewish communes in Argentina, as well as the Hasidic Co-op Movement in New York City earlier in the 20th Century. Obviously only on a small scale with a small group of people dedicated to a common cause. Pretty sure all of them being Jewish helped as well. They believed in their reasons to do it.
