You can always see a low rated comment. Can’t do that when the comments are disabled.

Reasons to disable comments:

1. Being on a timeout because you were flagged by a MAGA snowflake
2. So the paid Russian trolls can't collect a few Rubles per comment

4. Because it drives some unstable members CRAZY

Actually a down vote in simply a form of disagreement, if you are making ridiculous comments or flat out rude or incoherent ones like most of these brain dead left wingers, you may get down voted in to nothingness so noone has to reread shit.
