Yeah, and History will tell you that those "Democrats" were Southern Christian Conservatives who stopped voting for democrats when LBJ reformed the Party and passed the Civil Rights Act 1964.
The racist Democrats left the party, claiming that LBJ had "lost the Democratic vote in the South for a generation" which came true for obvious reasons. Who were quickly swept up by a new Republican Party that started embracing racial bigots like Goldwater, for the same obvious reasons.
Not a coincidence the parties shifted demographically when they changed stances on racial politics. In the 1860s, it was the Republican Party that ended slavery. 100 years later they would be fighting to preserve Jim Crow and Segregation Laws.
Political Parties change, but voters will always vote their interests.
Sure, there is some overlap with some of the generic big corps. Like amazon. But think about some of the most corrupt and dubious institutions: The Oil Industry, Gun Manufacturers, Organized Religion, Wallstreet and the Super Rich. Major Polluting industries. Etc. Can't really say Republicans and Democrats work for these at equal levels.
