They've largely dropped the requirement because COVID is no longer a public health emergency - the vaccines were extremely successful against the earlier and most fatal forms of the virus, and while some later variants were more transmissible, they were also less severe.

It's absolutely not because vaccines were ineffective, or worse, killing people.

Yes, corporate policies that were based on medical science - specifically studies that declared vaccines an effective means of inhibiting infection and transmission and preventing hospitalization and death against the emergent form of COVID-19 - during the pandemic.

Those policies were rescinded because the pandemic ended, not because the original studies were falsified by later studies.

The pandemic ended...but covid patients are still dying and pharmaceutical companies are still cranking out vaccines and PSAs are still out there advising you to get the latest vaccine(s).

COVID deaths are super super super low and the people who die refused to take the vaccine

Vaccines and PSAs are being put out because the disease continues to mutate, but it's no longer causing outbreaks on a global scale, mostly due to the combination of immunity gained through vaccination and clearing infection.

The evidence for this is pretty clear - this time last year we were seeing twice as many COVID deaths, and two years ago, there were 20 times as many.

I honestly don't know what you'd consider a "legitimate resource" in this case - there are no studies saying "hey guys, it's time to drop the mandate" - that's just the natural response when the threat has abated.
