Bills require 60 votes to pass in the Senate and every single Republican voted against it.

It literally never became a law because your elected officials killed it, and you still ridiculously blame it for the effects of Trump bungling the pandemic and printing $6T in 2020.

Non-sequiturs about pork aside, it doesn't matter because it NEVER BECAME LAW.

Do you understand yet?

Yes... you don't understand why people don't vote for bills loaded with pork... got it...

Uh actually no the prosecution representing the people won. Meaning the people (specifically the people of New York.) found him guilty. And on top of that the jury was also 12 people..so yeah no the people found his ass guilty.

It’s only republicans who have…oh wait no even 15% of republicans agree that Trump was guilty…huh…neat…

Yall say the left is deranged but the real deranged ones are you guys.

You’ll twist and contort yourselves in ways that would make cirque du solei drop the jaws to justify allowing a wannabe dictator and now felon be president.

You cannot talk about a “wannabe dictator” when you support the government using the DOJ to prosecute its political opposition.

It was a New York court, ruling on a New York crime, with a New York judge and jury.

Biden’s DoJ didn’t weaponize the local prosecutors he committed a crime and got caught.
5 ups, 7mo,

There are multiple democrats that have done similar and worse than what Trump has been accused of, now if this isn’t a political prosecution against Trump than why aren’t they going after the corrupt democrat politicians as well?

What are you talking about? Senator mayorkas is currently being prosecuted for bribery who he blamed it on his wife, and Henry Cuellar in Texas is being prosecuted for acting as a foreign agent and taking foreign money for influence pedaling BY THE BIDEN DOJ. Both of them are democrats.

Not to mention his own son is being prosecuted RIGHT NOW and if he’s found guilty i genuinely won’t care. Because I don’t think nepo babies should get a pass.
4 ups, 6mo,

You realize many of the charges were past the statute of limitations and the crime was actually done by his accountant. When this gets appealed to higher court it will be dismissed with prejudice.
[deleted]

No they weren’t because they were done to influence the election by covering up a sex scandal. Making them felonies.

New York law stops the clock whenever a person leaves the state. This was done to prevent people from fleeing to neighboring states to avoid prosecution. meaning when Trump left the clock stopped.
2 ups, 6mo,
1 reply
Well that's not legal either. Statute of limitations is very clear and doesn't allow that. But also Trump didn't leave until he ran for president. They were outdated before he left.
[deleted]
0 ups, 6mo
Clearly it does because prosecution was able to not just bring the case but convict based off it.

And no the felonies had not in fact ran out before he left as he moved his home to Florida and was campaigning all over the U.S.

At this point, we should keep in mind- as President Trump stressed in court, that "Stormy was actually way, way hotter back then..."

Shoplifting is not being prosecuted. Other crimes like squatting, illegal migrations, etc. Look it up. It's not hard to find.
0 ups, 6mo
To close? In October? 2023?

Yes, it is being prosecuted.
Stores just won't do anything about thieves even when done openly. They fear lawsuits should someone claim injury sustained while being apprehended or held. Not only that, actually many thefts are inhouse - store employees. Sometimes it's misplaced stock. It all gets lumped together. Post it on social media, and suddenly it's an overwhelming flood even as incidents have been declining since a surge in 2020 -21.

Squatting is legal. Pretty much on the whole planet. There was even a whole celebrated Punk subculture/movement of squatters in London in the 1980s. Yeah, millionaire London. Back in the 80s.

They're actually passing legislation now to restrict illegal squatting - that is the sneaking in and occupying of houses while the owner was elsewhere. Cases have involved houses empty while under renovation or a 2nd home used seasonally, that sort of thing.

Illegal migration, is, by definition, illegal migration. That means it's illegal. That too is a problem on the entire planet. DeSantis was bussing them from Texas to here, until Mayor Adams finally did something and started suing the bus companies that transported them. That put an end to it.

I was raised in a neighborhood of illegals. Well, since I was 8. They hailed from Italy. We used to have millions of them - illegal. aliens. From Italy. Loads came after WWII. You may have heard of them? There's a ton of movies featuring them.

You know what else is illegal in NYC? Prostitution. Johns - that's their patrons - get locked up for that. Do you know of any well known Johns on the news lately who got busted for it yet weren't jailed? There's one particular one whose been making the headlines lately. He 'met' with his parole officer yesterday. Video conference. That's a first - all others have to come in and do it in person.

Why do you support the establishment and their connected elites getting treated in a manner no regular citizen would be?

That’s just copium and lies.
He committed business fraud which is something he’s done LONG before he was president.

And there is a laundry list of people from that time who did work for him but never got paid.

This time around he comitted 34 felonies to cover up a sex scandal during an election. Had he simply paid her legally or not been running for office they’d be misdemeanors.

Sigh…first off…
When it comes to social media conservative outlets are usually listed in the top of their news feeds or in the case of Facebook when it covered political news. Number 1-4 of the list were outlets like the daily mail.

They did not in fact censor conservatives.
And it was later to be found out that it was left leaning voices who frequently were black listed. (Probably because they don’t pay as much in ad revenues. But that’s pure speculation on my part.)

Second. Funny enough it’s not illegal for a news outlet to buy and kill a story on their own. Fox does it all the time. BUT the minute you do it personally and lie about it on the paperwork THEN it becomes illegal.

Again he had 2 easy outs either just pay her legally or paid her off before he ran. He chose neither and went about it the worst way possible legally through his former fixer.

Idk what exactly would differentiate cash from whatever check or series of checks or however he paid her....?

I mean if you f*** a girl, give her a check, write "hush money" in the memo, and make her sign an NDA..... does that make it not prostitution?

Asking for a friend.
😂

No but also like... it would seem the threat of prostitution law would be a double edged sword. If she breaks the agreement, tells someone, and claims he paid her to have sex.... then that makes her the prostitute.. (and thus also subject to legal problems) Idk.
2 ups, 6mo
It's written off as a business expense, "entertaining business clients" or some crap like that. Remember, this is somebody who spends more on lunch and expensive restaurant and most folks spend on food in a month, and it's a tax write off.

Anyways, the rich 'don't' engage in prostitution.

Depends on the state and legal code.
Some states could get away with sleeping with hookers as long as it was filmed and calling it a video art form others that doesn’t fly or not even needed.

I mean look at Las Vegas.

Also hookers are usually given clemency or immunity for testifying against their John’s in high profile cases. She already had to tell the world she’d boned trump it doesn’t get much lower then that.

The American people were the victims - the fact that Trump defrauded voters and cheated to win in 2016 fundamentally broke this nation, robbed women of rights, created more than $6T in new money out of thin air and gave most of it away to the top 1%, and of course killed more than a million of us through his ineptitude and bungling of the pandemic.

But do go on pretending Big Macs costing more is somehow worse than empty shelves and refrigerator trucks full of corpses.

4 ups, 7mo,

I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but you are the one with the irrational opinion here, you are the one claiming that Trump rigged the 2016 election with nothing suspicious about it or any evidence to prove that he rigged it, however there is a much better case for the 2020 election being rigged, not mention that you made some bizarre accusation that Trump eliminated women’s rights.
[deleted]
2 ups, 7mo,
1 reply
He was just convicted of 34 counts, made felonious by the fact that they were committed to interfere in an election, for his conspiracy to bury the Stormy Daniels story in the final weeks of the 2016 election. There are mountains of evidence, and again 34 felony convictions, of that rigging.

There is no case the 2020 election was rigged or stolen by Democrats, and yes Trump appointed the SCOTUS Justices who lied their way through their confirmations in order to strip American women of the right to their own bodies.

Most embryo and fetuses have the potentially to one day become children, but surely you realize using non-technical terms in an emotionally exploitative manner isn't the sign of a strong argument.

Legally forcing women to carry unwanted or non-viable pregnancies to term when alternatives are available, safe and effective is taking away their right to bodily autonomy, and that doesn't end well for any of us.
3 ups, 6mo,
2 replies
No, they didn't.
But Trump did - or tried.

Trump asked the Secretary of State of Georgia to come up with 11,780 out of thin air,
and that wasn't the only state.

Trump attempted to use numerous fake Elector votes in various States.

Trump wanting Pence to overturn the results of the election during certification on January 7th 2021.

Trump demanded that polling stations close in states where and when he was in the lead.

Trump literally wanted it to declare martial law and have the military seize voting machines and conduct a recount in his favor.

Nothing like the above has ever happened ever in the United States of America. Ever.

They did so while violating constitutional rights. So while you THINK he's a convicted felon, he's actually going to have things dropped and reversed and downgraded to misdemeanors. You cant break the laws of justice, to try and serve Justice. Doesn't work that way

The Sixth Amendment guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.

Part 1? Covered. Part 2? Covered. Part 3? Not covered bc Jury was Instructed by the Judge. Part 4? Not covered as Trump was not given the nature of the charges and there weren't accusers. The people/entities that were supposedly victimized stated publicly there wasn't any problems.
[deleted]
1 up, 6mo,

Wrong those rights weren’t violated.

Juries being instructed on procedure does not violate trumps 6th amendment right. Or are we just not going to allow judges to answer questions by the jury and just hope every juror has legal degrees?

As for the the last part the accuser the accuser was the state of New York the nature of his charges have been explained from legal scholars to myself here multiple times on imgflip. Other wise by your logic a murderer couldn’t be charged with murder unless we can get a wizard to cast speak with dead to resurrect the victim.

Regardless in either case his 6th amendment rights were not violated.

And the jury being instructed on procedure is not a violation of the 6th amendment.
