Yeah, ummm child abuse victims AIN'T the number one user of this product. More like less than 1%. Kinda like the trans movement that was blitz'd 24/7 earlier this year. It represented less than 1% of the population too, but to see the political ads you'd think 90% of all women you meet are secretly men. And thanks to the abortion ads, you'd think 2 out of 3 women were impregnated by their mom's boyfriend when they were teens. That is patiently false. If you want to have a rational discussion about something, YOU MUST be willing to talk about the majority of the situations, not the rarest or most obscene.

That's why there are tens of thousands of step father's in prison today for rape.

And very few of those rapes ended in pregnancy.... false and unsourced statistics get you nowhere.

Is that really your opinion? Or are you just trying to score social points?

"score social points?" I'm not a liberal. No that's a truth. Rape is awful, but very few rapes result in pregnancy -- as least not violent rapes. Repeated child abuse and molestation can of course have better odd of resulting in a pregnancy. It's very very very sad when it happens... But it would also be equally sad to murder a child because of it.

However, the exceptions are normally in place for abortions to be allowed (though still barbaric) for the rare cases of rape, incest, and life or death of the mother.

I guess if the woman dies she clearly wouldn't be pregnant.. but other than that idk why a violent rape would be much different than a nonviolent one as far as pregnancy (?) Do they beat on their ovaries or something? idk.

I would think child rape would be less likely to result in pregnancy since the victim may not have viable eggs... Not sure exactly.

one is too many, but that false statement which you're missing is that because 10s of thousands of step fathers are in prison for rape is a direct comparison to the number of pregnancies resulting from those rapes. Stay on topic, I know your track record shows that's very hard for you, but try.

One rape-related pregnancy to too many of course. But likewise one rape-related murder of the child is also too many.

Quick question, can a 10 year adopt a baby? Why?
1 up, 1y
Your meme accurately sums it up! I found some numbers on this, approximately 85% of abortions are by women in their 20's and 30's. Women under 18 make up about 3.5%.
4 ups, 1y
And yet both of these are valid reasons to get abortions.

Die mad.
2 ups, 1y
You want to erase her experience. Okay.

There's a very easy way to take underage women, rape and incest victims, obviously medically unviable pregnancies, and women with severe health problems out of the politics of the abortion discussion:

Provide common-sense exceptions for such situations.

It's that easy!

Unwilling to do that? Then reproductive care advocates will absolutely use them as a political hammer, and they'd be right to. If you want to craft laws that punish "s**ts" and you end up sweeping up 10-year-old rape victims in your dragnet of moral policing, then yeah, that's a problem.

A more subtle point is that reproductive care access for these "special" cases (the kinds of abortions that almost anyone can agree are understandable) depends to a great degree upon access for "routine" cases (the kinds of abortions you want to police and hate).

We can have that argument at a later date once your party works through its other crap.

You do realize that those "undo pills" will prevent her from getting pregnant in the first place, right?

Guess I'll take that advice next time a crime happens in my neighborhood.

Ain't my property, ain't my life, ain't my home, mind my own business.

Then it's NOT a crime. And NOT your business.

I guess I can blow up my house with C4 then. Even if it harms someone else it sure will make my life more convenient when I collect the insurance and move to a nicer house. After all it's my business what I do in my home.
[deleted]
1 up, 1y
If you've discussed your intention to demolish your own home with the relevant practitioners in your council and your insurance company, then yes, it is none of my business.

Why would you need C4 for that? There's much easier and safer ways of doing it. Just let a qualified construction crew handle it. Don't give it to some back alley explosives dealer.

A fetus is a baby, or an unborn baby if anyone wants to be that specific.

"So is your fetus going to be a boy or a girl?" said no one ever,,,

Yeah unfortunately. Because the baby isn't viable outside the womb it's not considered a baby. Technology will advance to the point where children will be viable outside the womb from who knows how early on.

....... even if you suck it in some kind of artificial womb, the correct medical terminology would still be fetus. I don't know where you got this idea from but it's not accurate at all.

5 minutes before it's born it's a completely different organism huh? Wow, touching air sure does work some magic.
[deleted]
0 ups, 1y
No, five minutes before it's born it's a fetus.

I know that people colloquially say that birth is a miracle but on some level, you must understand that you're intentionally overstating this.
