I thought maybe people misunderstood that I was joking that your monthly grocery cost will be lower, not because cost is low, but that there would be nothing to buy period. LGB!

Unlike many in this country, who insist on instant gratification, I still have that 16 cents Sleepy Joe saved me at last July's barbecue!

So once those shelves are stocked again, watch out!!!

KAMALA HARRIS: The purpose of the sanctions has always been and continues to be deterrence.

ANTONY BLINKEN: As to the sanctions. The most important thing we can do is to use them as a deterrent, as a means of dissuading Russia from engaging in further aggression.

JOHN KIRBY: The president believes that sanctions are intended to deter.

JOE BIDEN: No one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening.

Yesterday when i checked what time the SOTU address was on, the search results showed a Wikipedia article with the headline: "The 2022 State of the Union Address is scheduled to be given by U.S. President Ariana Grande", but when you open the article it reads Joe Biden.
Weird, lol.
1 up, 3y
I actually kind of wonder how things would be if Ariana was president now that you put the idea in my head. I doubt she'd be great, but as a fan of hers I'd kinda hope she would be lol

And it was.

It actually captures a Walmart outlet in Texas that ran out of food items and other supplies as it was thronged by customers stocking up ahead of the approach of Hurricane Rita in 2005.

It appears the problem is less to do with legislation and more the habit of people in a crisis. It has nothing to do with liberals or their policies.

I wonder how much of that was because of liberal overreaction leading to frickin' HOARDING in the high dense democrat population areas. I noticed when it came to local shortages is that they didn't happen on a local level but when people came from other states(Ohio and New York) and started buying stuff up.

As a route driver with a major food company, I was on the front lines when this all broke, and you are 100% correct- the empty shelves during that period of Trump's presidency was 100% thanks to the panic created by the liberal media and liberal politicians. It really only started when liberals started to float lockdowns as a means of "protecting" us.

In other words, you simply cannot increase buying by more than 400%, and not expect there to be a supply issue.

From that point on, the reserves of raw materials, from the plastics and papers used to manufacture the packaging, to the ingredients themselves, were used up; the system has been working to catch up ever since, but then it all ran into a new snag- the Biden "presidency". We then went from having an economic engine that was nearly caught up to a rash of bad policies, including further lockdowns, that shackled the means of production.

I love it when imgflip liberals try to pose as having a clue. If any of them went out and found a job, or a real job, they might not be so incredibly ignorant.

Yeah, and you don't see how the corporate capitalist system is so fragile?

Maybe if you didn't depend on imports so painfully much, you wouldn't have such problems with "increase buying by more than 400%, and not expect there to be a supply issue."

Yeah, the supply side is never to blame...

Maybe if you forced bailed out companies to not fire people anyway, or to even hire more, using that stimulus package the right way, or get expropriated because country before business (right? or is it business before country? gee I don't know, Seems that CONfederates will look for any excuse to betray America in some way or another, and it's all because of the bottom line.

Then they have the gall to make antisemitic comments about greedy Jews..., the immunity against hypocrisy is real.

"From that point on, the reserves of raw materials, from the plastics and papers used to manufacture the packaging, to the ingredients themselves, were used up"

Like I said, force companies to use the bailout to hire even more people, make more active measures, shorter shifts to reduce Covid exposure...

I dunno man, seems RepubiCONs are afraid of doing the hard work of getting their boots in the ground, roll up their sleeves and analyze the issue from the local level up.

Right Wing politics are the epitome of ideological laziness.

Grow up.

The problem isn't the system but the people. There was a time when looters, rioters, and hoarders got hung or shot on the spot during a major crisis.

Hoarding happens to anyone in a crisis. Case in point, the picture the OP used is from Austin of 2005:

Used to be the following would be shot/hung during a crisis - looters, rioters, and hoarders.

People from NY - the trading capital of Planet Earth where most of the stuff in front of you passed through before getting trucked to Lonesome Tumbleweed Oklahoma - went to YOUR Walmart when this happened?

Anyways, thank goodness all them survivalists and zombie preppers (gosh, I love Texas) were already stocked up so took a pass on any further buying so that them city folk can go to and wipe your shelves clean.
So touching *wipes tear*

Being from a place doesn't make you an expert in its history, you don't learn things through osmosis.

You're just salty that a foreigner knows your country better than you never cared to do.

Not that you can't, it's just that you don't care about reality.

You don't know Jack about Doocy, being from a place doesn't make you an expert on it.

You're clearly speaking from a blood and soil perspective, wheres I am doing do from an academic one.

Yeah, right, you know more than I do, but not about what's real, you only believe in fantasies and half truths, or as Umberto Eco would put it, structured confusion, a rigid discombobulation.

You live in a land of moral fantasies because reality is too boring and complicated.

Grow up.

The rather detailed details about Canada a whole mess of our MAGAt colleagues posted during the Trucker/Trudeau standoff gave away where much of these Brownshirting 'patriots' are really from, and those sympathetic to poow widdle Putin since the invasion are giving away their Russian identities or at least bot jobs.

There's less than 10 Righties on this site that I can say with some degree of certainty live in the USA.
