But that's a special type of gasoline though. It's infused with hopes, dreams and the very essence of corporate greed. HAHAHA!

But honestly, give it awhile... we'll get close to that mark soon enough, I'd guess. Gas is already back up to the mid-4s for me.

Yup you are getting ripped off. Still 2.79 in my area, but then again our governor placed our state into a state of emergency, the gas stations cant rip us off.

Absolutely, right?! It's probably a Chevron… that's their Credit price. Hahaha!

Yea, or just stupid partisan gaslighting that does no good.

I found the article the dude's referring to (it's by SFGate on MSN.com)... while not conclusive - honestly, who would believe anything media says at face value these days - it would seem as though a soul-sucking, cash-mongering, gas station-owning as$hat seems to be charging as advertised.

I can believe it could happen up north... gas is going up like crazy in here in LA.

Just as I thought, and always say, its a local problem, not a federal one.

I mean... who do you think gives us inordinate amounts of money via taxes, bailouts and stimuluses? But, yeah... I guess you could say it's local... just don't forget to pay your taxes... they'll be another wild fire soon because of the policies that are in place and we count on your support.
1 up, 3y
Well, taxes on gas are local. So do most people even know what the excuse tax is for gas in their area? Nope, they dont care. They just know gas has a cost, not understanding a good portion of the fuel cost is local excise, for roads and sidewalks and such.

When and where Democrats rule, disaster follows.

Take Joe Biden, please.

Somebody's getting ripped off. It's still less than $3 in Minnesota.
2 ups, 3y
Same in Kansas, but it was under $2 before Joe.
1 up, 3y
Only 2.80 here too... Agree that's high.

I think the main point is that people mocked Trump for something he again was right about.

No, the point is the exact same thing would've happened if Trump won.

Geez, even now the buck stops with Trump!

Get lost, it's now Biden's America.
0 ups, 3y
But whatever happens in "Biden's" America (border crisis, etc.) Biden blames Trump for it.

The Facebook ban on Trump was just extended past the 2022 midterm elections. They are already afraid of what's going to happen then.

Actually, no - it wouldn't. Biden executive ordered the shut down the keystone XL pipeline, causing the increase in price for a barrel of oil to go up.

How much did gas cost at that gas station 6 days ago when trump made that "prediction"?
1 up, 3y,
1 reply
Lmao cognitive dissonance at its best.

"Wait orange man bad came up with accurate prediction (idiot noises grind to a halt) .... But Biden is my god and BLack lives matter, this can't be"

What a dumbass.
1 up, 3y
OP meme claims trump made an accurate prediction of $7 because the price of gas at one gas station was $6.73.

Besides the obvious fact that $6.73 ≠ $7.00, the OP meme provides no additional context.

So as far as we know the price of gas at that gas station was also $6.73 when the donald made the "prediction" 6 days ago.

But ya anyways.... If you throw enough spaghetti at the wall, some of it will stick!!!

Gas for me went from 2.80 to 3.35 in around 3 weeks

Gas prices dropped last year because of the pandemic, prices would've shot up regardless of who was president.
3 ups, 3y
According to the article the meme is based on, that particular gas station charges considerably higher prices than most. Apparently they're not part of a major chain and are not able to get bulk discounts from selling large quantities of gas. They also do not have a little convenience store attached like most other gas stations do, so they can't make $$ on soda and chips and whatnot.

They were already affordable pre-pandemic, the pandemic just made the prices go even lower

Nope. Biden shut down the keystone XL pipeline.

20,000 barrels flowing cheaply through a pipeline now take 1600 trains and 2400 semi trucks to transport. There is why gas went up you idiot.
3 ups, 3y,

?? ... not sure exactly what you think happened there but Biden shut down CONSTRUCTION of it... Keystone XL was never completed. So the amount of oil flowing through it now is exactly the same as it was during Trump's presidency.... Zero gallons.

Troll harder :)

Lmao. You troll harder. Completion of plan of the pipeline wasn't a contributing factor to whether or not oil was flowing to points. Can't have a leak if it wasn't flowing with oil you moron. It's shut down shut down now.

Oh and source is a democratic stronghold news source, so suck it femboy.

Excellent troll. You provided a source that destroys the premise of your reply in literally the first sentence.

Keystone XL pipeline ≠ Keystone.

Anyways ya... Hilarious. Keep up the good work.
0 ups, 3y,

Are you dense? Just because it wasn't part of the XL segment, doesn't mean there wasn't oil flowing. Which is what your premise is - oil wasn't flowing because it wasn't complete.

Which is stupid bc oil was flowing. Thanks you Biden - it isn't. Go dye your hair orange or something
0 ups, 3y,

Wow... ok maybe read this twice if you have to.

My premise:
Zero oil is/was flowing through the Keystone XL portion of the pipeline. It Is currently only 8% complete. This is the construction which President Joe Biden shut down. Oil can't travel through a pipeline which is 8% complete.

The amount of oil flowing through the already existing Non-XL part of the Keystone pipeline is more or less exactly the same as it was when the donald was president.

So idk what the f*ck you're talking about as far as "20,000 barrels flowing cheaply through a pipeline now take 1600 trains and 2400 semi trucks to transport. There is why gas went up"........

I'm still hoping you're simply trolling but just in case you're actually serious, perhaps I'll make a visual aid to help you.
0 ups, 3y,

And again... the dotted line representing XL was only 6% complete. So President Joe Biden shutting it down changed nothing as far as the flow of Canadian oil into America.

Except it changes the investors market. When you stop production of a route - futures investors clam up and the prices increase as a direct result.

When you have a pipeline in production - future investors are much more free flowing with assets to keep the price down.

What Joe Biden did with his signing is keep Americans dependant on foreign oil where the tighten the nozzle to bring in more profit to OPEC at the cost of the American fuel purchasers.
0 ups, 3y
There are many factors which can affect the price of oil. Halting the construction of 1 oil pipeline not even close to anywhere near being finished would seem pretty far down the list of possible reasons... Yet you somehow seem to be trying to frame it as the sole reason.

Gas prices often begin to rise in the spring/summer as people being to travel more.. doesn't seem irrational to also consider additional demand from coming out of covid & the shutdowns.

I might also mention prices of various things (including the price of oil) were rising during Trump's presidency. Interesting that nobody said anything at the time.

As far as President Joe Biden shutting down XL "keeping Americans dependent on foreign oil".......
The Keystone and Keystone XL pipeline projects are CANADIAN. The oil is CANADIAN. Look at the map. They're owned by TC Energy, a company formerly known as "TransCanada". Last I checked Canada ain't part of the U.S..
0 ups, 3y,

Ok... Fair enough on which part was flowing where. The fact is the pipeline production and affiliated pipelines are now going via trucks and trains which is my point.

Which costs a lot more and caused prices to rise. Now if big daddy oil would take a loss on profits and keep the price steady instead of artificially increasing the price from fake shortages... Then I would say Democratic ideas work in terms of gas prices.

The problem here is private businesses can increase their price for the commodity because of the increased handling costs.
0 ups, 3y
As I said President Biden shutting down construction of keystone XL changed nothing as far as the flow of oil.

Whichever way oil was traveling.... pipeline or truck or train or whatever... is exactly the same as it was during the trump presidency.
0 ups, 3y
That has nothing to do with it.
