Absolutely. When I watch those old comedies in the 70s or for instance, Dean Martin's Celebrity Roast, everyone's laughing and having a good time, with their ethnic slurs and nonsense, and showing the races having fun together. That show today would be considered offensive and would never be given the light of day. Now we get "comedians" who moralize and patronize; which is the farthest thing from comedy you can get.

He was also set to star in it. I don't think it would have been the movie it was if he played the sheriff. I like Richard Pryor but Clevon Little was perfect for that role.

I loved Get Smart when I was a kid. It was years later that I found out that Get Smart was the brainchild of Mel Brooks and Buck Henry (who was also on SNL in the early days). I still think it is funny.

A few days ago my wife and were going somewhere and it was a beautiful spring day and that song popped into my head because it mentions springtime. The Producers was a funny movie but it's not on my list of favorite Mel Brooks movies.

"Young Frankenstein" and "Blazing Saddles". Those are my favorites but I hated the ending of "Blazing Saddles". I liked "The Producers", "High Anxiety" and "Silent Movie". I haven't seen "Silent Movie" or "High Anxiety" since they came out and I am not sure if I would still like them.

I could not stand "Spaceballs" and "Life Sucks". "Dracula, Dead and Loving it" was dumb.

Are you saying that when Portugal and Spain drove the moors out of their countries that that was the beginning of racism?

Hmm... I think it is much older than that. Islam is not a race, it is an authoritarian theocracy that is commanded by allah to murder unbelievers. It probably was just a matter of survival by kicking out the moors.

I agree. The majority of Muslims aren't practicing their religion. If they did, with 1.2 billion of them, we would probably all be dead. However, about 25% of them do practice their religion and about 50% support those who practice their religion but would never involved themselves in the killings. And they are the problems. I have no problem at all with Muslims who do NOT believe in or support the killings, rapes, enslaving, beatings, pedophilia, etc. I only have a problem with the ones who would do any or all of that, without a second thought, to me or anyone else. The ones who feel justified by their god and their religion in doing those depraved acts.

Just as a point of reference, 25% of 1.2 billion is about the same as the population of the United States.

Muslims are forbidden from committing suicide. They are also forbidden from harming innocent bystanders in time of war. Religion can not be forced, and Christians and Jews are considered to be people of the book and Muslims are instructed to compete with them in good deeds and to let God judge each based on the covenant he established with them. Yeah, it has the prohibition on homosexuality but so does Christianity and Judaism.

No doubt there are Muslims that don't follow these guidelines, but to say that we'd all be dead if they were is ignorant of the religion and intolerant.

Queue "it's the Inquisition".

There are plenty of passages in the quran that command Muslims to kill the unbeliever. One passage commands Muslims to kill the unbeliever even if they do not want to kill the unbeliever.

Unbelievers are not considered innocent, so an innocent bystander would be a Muslim.

Muslims are given a choice when it comes to the "people of the book". They can either kill them or tax them. But there are so many other passages in the quran and the hadeths that specifically commands Muslims to kill the Jews. One passage talks about the trees will scream to the Muslims that there is a Jew hiding behind me, come kill him.

What a lot people have problems understanding how the quran works. There are passages that call for peace. Those are the first commandments that allah gave to Mohammad. Those commandments were nullified by the most newest commandments. The commandments to murder are the most recent.

Muslims who understand this are the ones who have been causing problems everywhere they go ever since the beginning of the religion. Those who do not understand that don't cause problems.

There is a massively big difference between how Christianity and Judaism teaches the commandments of God and how Islam teaches commandments. Christianity and Judaism is and always has been voluntary because God's commandments are for the individual to choose to live and not the church or synagogue. In Islam there is sharia law where the commandments are forced on you by the theocracy.

There have been narcissists who have taken control of various Christian groups and tried to control their followers. That goes contrary to everything Jesus taught. Jesus never forced anyone to follow Him. True Christianity is completely voluntary.

The inquisition was NOT about fighting Muslims. The inquisition was an intervention of the Catholic Church into secular law. If a person was convicted a crime sometimes the Catholic Church would investigate if that person was actually guilty or not. If they found the person not guilty then they would be acquitted of all charges and freed.

If the person was found guilty by the inquisition then the secular punishment would continue. The Church would sometimes try to get the criminal to confess that they were acting under the devil's orders but what is taught today is not what the inquisition was. The inquisition did not kill anyone

Intolerance is funny. Intolerant people always give exception to their own group, and no exception to others. Sins among Christians/America's mistakes are despite our faith/character - but Muslims - it's because of it. Muslims are 1/4 of the world. You sure are comfortable condemning a lot of people.

Incorrect. Jews, Christians, and usually Zoroastrians (for whatever reason) are not non-believers. Non-believers are polytheists.

Care to point me to one of those kill unbelievers lines? Quran 9:5 seems to be popular, but in historical context it was directed at a group of non-believers that were pillaging the countryside. And 9:6 says "And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know."

Nothing in the Quran nullifies anything else. I forget the verse, but it pretty much forbids picking and choosing from the Quran. If it says kill the thief and be merciful, the only contradiction is in your head.

I agree that theocracies are bad. I sure don't want girls forced to marry their rapist like it says in Deuteronomy. Terrorists have secular goals. MI-6 had conducted studies and found that terrorists have an easier time radicalizing people who don't have knowledge of religion. Those who do know enough to not believe the crazy. And the goals of terrorists are always secular. They rally around faith, but most terrorism is conducted by groups trying to drive off an occupying force.

With the Inquisition, you aren't making the point you think you are. Give that same benefit of the doubt to Muslims.
