You have to also know the proportion of tests to population performed in each country for your (I mean the TV’s) argument to be valid. For instance, India has tested 234,445,775 of its population, a mere fraction of its population of 1,389,308,662. In the USA, we have conducted 389,786,114 tests in a population of 330,161,965. We’ve done more testing than we have people, whereas India, China have barely done any testing comparatively. Since cases are test dependent - meaning you can’t have cases without tests - it makes perfect sense that the USA has the highest proportion of cases since we by far have the highest proportion of testing. Hopefully this helps.
