The web is one gigantic censorship machine. Is the web wrong, given that premise? I know you can argue how the web shares human knowledge but in the long run that freedom will be overturned. So again presuming "abuse" of the web on the grandest scale is the web wrong? Can the web do the greater good while still censoring humanities worst ideas??

Well, consider who is going to do the censuring, and for what purpose. It will be someone with a lot of influence, either political or economic. Which means neither you nor me.

I can remember the following presidents of the USA: Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barrack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. Would you trust every single one of them to censure speech for the greater good? If no, then don't support censorship.

I know that for my part the answer is "No" for every single one of them. It is also "No" for Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, and Bill Gates, to mention a few tech leaders.

Anyone can get political propaganda published. I don't want it banned - I want it out there so that the lunacy of the author is on full display.

Part of why I love the 1st Amendment so much. Censoring people only makes it harder to out the morons.
