Only an utter moron leaves a cesspool, travels to heaven, then re-establishes the cesspool.

We don't need to lower the collective IQ of America by admitting more morons. We already have liberals for that.

That's what libtards are doing right now. They leave California for Texas. We gotta stop that nonsense. Texas ought to ban Californians.

If the State of Texas barred retards from California coming to their state to destroy it it, would not be unconstitutional. It would be 100% AMERICAN! Liberals are the anti-constitutionals!

a lot of conservatives are moving to texas from california due to the high taxes.

The same argument Texans and Floridians have. These leftists leave California and New York because of the high taxes and screwed up policies. They go to a conservative state and start to demand the same policies they left. How stupid some people are.

Yes! I have experienced that myself when I lived in Montana. Californians moving in by the bus loads and then demanding sidewalks, streetlights, things the small town I lived in could not afford and all I could think was “if it’s so terrible here, why did you move here in the first place!” — ugh :(

Because elitist always think they know what is best for everyone else.

"elitist"

the word given to describe people who can't afford a car, lol

"then demanding sidewalks"

i've made jokes about boomers driving to their next-door neighbor's house instead of walking. is that true?

in all seriousness, though, are sidewalks too much to ask?

In some cases, yes. I was living in a very small town in the Rocky Mountains surrounded by giant evergreen trees with enormous root systems. I lived there because I liked the wildness of the area. I would rather the trees with all the wildlife as opposed to losing them and putting in sidewalks:) And there was the cost that our town couldn’t afford without raising taxes.

ok. just asking, since where i live its rather flat and there aren't massive trees about. i see where you're coming from, now.

the joke i was making about boomers came from this time when i went to this neighborhood where there weren't any massive trees or sidewalks, and that every suburban dad who lived there just drove their cars out of one driveway to another simply to visit a neighbor.

I've seen tons of college students in my building take the elevator instead of the stairs to the 2nd floor. LIke are they scared of breaking a sweat?

What would you assume the % would be? At least some of them must realize why they were fleeing.
5 ups, 5y,

Really don't know what the percentage is, but as Texas grows, so does the number of Democrats. There is a chance Texas could turn purple from a solid Red. Texas is the largest destination for people leaving California.

It's horrible. If Texas goes, good luck for any Republican president.

It's practically a certainty at this point. Texas will be blue eventually. Friggin sucks

Because a handful of monied transplants infusing a place with millions already there are just going to hijack gov't and make them do what again?

Try trustfund hipsters from Ohio taking over neighborhoods and gentrifying the residents out and local gov't catering to them because they are more monied. (Yay Bloomberg!)

HAA! wanna shock? Check out who an unexpected large portion of AOC voters were in her district, especially in the Queens part...

And why do people immigrate from a high tax high level of social services state to a low tax state and then want the same services that they left behind?
[deleted]
4 ups, 5y
Yes, I experienced that when I lived in Montana and a LOT of Californians were moving to my little town and demanding the things that they left behind but my little town couldn’t afford them. I couldn’t understand why they moved there in the first place.

I chose not to be notified when it’s not me getting the reply—I am sometimes surprised when I get a reply and there’s a whole thread not concerning me ;-)

I will have to be in charge after 5pm and I don’t look forward to it. The kids here are juvenile delinquents (and some aren’t juveniles any longer) and cause near riots where the police and others have to be called and if I make the wrong call I will be in trouble. I i don’t want that much responsibility. It’s really stressful and I end up working way past 11:30 pm (my usual clock out time) which is why I’m so tired :(
Sounds like you’re going through the same type of thing as me!

I'm not dealing with juvenile delinquents...geez that sounds stressful just thinking about it. How'd you get roped into that gig? I'm dealing with an employee shortage in my group, can't find anyone to hire and guess who gets to pick up the slack? And while my sales team understands the constraints I'm under, they can't exactly start turning down work because my team can't keep up, so we're just understaffed and drinking from a fire hose till relief comes. I'm very grateful for my job, and still love what I do but man this is a tough chapter.

I do travel nursing and was told that this was a psych nursing position but it’s not. I’m used to giving psych meds to people who are psychotic or manic or even very depressed and they get better. No amount of medication changes bad behaviors. I’m finishing my contract there and will move on. I was planning on staying 6-9 months because I’m very close to home, but this isn’t worth it. And too many injuries, myself included.
I’m glad that you love what you do. I believe that you’ll find someone to fill the vacancy.

I don't blame you one bit for looking elsewhere! That sounds downright awful...

Got an interview with someone today at 2pm...hopefully it goes well, although the credentials don't necessarily fit the bill. We'll see, fingers crossed.

I hope so too-working short-staffed is an everyday occurrence in my profession but I’m used to it and usually nurses will team up and help one another.
