you never see the GOP stray too far from OLD WHITE GUY. You get the occasional white woman. Young white guy. Maybe even an old white woman. But the demographics of the GOP doesn't jibe too close with US demos. The Dems are closer to reality.

Candidates can be both inteligent and minorities, the problem is lately Democrats have taken identity politics so far, that they are not making sure that many of their candidates are even qualified. Someone who anwers a question about how to pay for something with "you just pay it" (rather than even arguing tax the rich, reduce inefficiencies, ect.) obviously isn't qualified. She doesn't even grasp the concept that the money has to come from somewhere.
Even making Mexico pay for it (which I acknowledge is a ridiculous expectation) is more thought through than that.
