Actually no, I don't know anyone that was murdered (except by armed militias and terrorists) but I know plenty that have lost love ones to drug abuse, drunk or stoned drivers. Guess what? All of them still take meds and drive cars, they understand that a negative action has no effect on a positive. I was a UN peacekeeper, I will never go anywhere without a firearm, ever, no matter what signs, laws or others think say or do. The world is a dangerous place, even more so when you have zero ability to face evil.

Gun control has already failed. Schools have been official gun-free zones for many years now. How about the government prove it can properly enforce the laws it has now, before we let it make more laws?

Also, the logic you just used could also be turned around to say "only someone who has had to fight off a home invader can understand why gun ownership is so important". I also hate murder, and want children to be safe. I just disagree with you on how to keep them safe.

You will never be able to use the law to control crime, anger or hate. I have seen what happens when only one side holds both power and firearms, it is not a life I would wish on my worst enemy. The hard truth is firearms in the hands of security is the only real option to protect anyone from an angry person with a firearm. That said, the schools should have the same levels of security the political elite enjoy in their offices.

Agreed 100%! I also think that students and teachers should have the option of using concealed carry if they prove themselves responsible enough. (actually, I also think that public schooling is not a legitimate role of government, but that's an issue for another day. In the meantime, school security is important regardless)
