Did I say all Muslims? No, I didn't. I said a large swath of Muslim leaders. Now I guess you could argue that's a vague reference, but when you have thousands of them out there calling for it, I would call it a large swath. There are about 30,000 people killed in terrorist attacks every year around the world. The vast majority of them are done in the name of Islam. Yeah, yeah, I get it, "it's not the interpretation believed by the majority of them." (I'm also quite aware that the majority of the people dying are OTHER Muslims.) It still doesn't negate my previous point, and as a matter of fact, these interpretations ARE in fact "legitimate" because the Qu'ran lends itself to these kinds of interpretations. What's your criteria for legitimacy if not millions of followers? Islam doesn't have anything equivalent to the Catholic or Orthodox churches. And I'm pretty sure Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik never called on any of that either to their co-workers either, just as most people plotting evil acts don't announce them. Enough of the broad strokes? Right, as if liberals don't say broad generalities about conservatives, Christians, and Trump voters.
