If mods want something buried and not viewed, it gets squashed. For example 85 views with 8upvotes
is usually an indicator of a meme on the up and coming... one that may trend. Yet, when one looks for it in the HOT category a day later, it is nowhere to be found, even amongst ones that have similar yet less views and upvotes. This one regarding Savannah of NBC TODAY show is just one example:

I do agree with your calculation of a good indicator for a meme's popularity. I think very much as you do and if one can achieve 10% upvotes, that is a great predictor of acceptance from like-minded individuals.

I have experienced the same outcome many times and it does lead one to wonder. 🤔 Of course, my favorite form of censorship is when the mods inform you that your meme with hundreds of views has been "unpublished" due to xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, inciting violence, racism, or a multitude of other excuses (when they should just say "because it was doing a little too well). Yours was a very good, topical, & funny meme and should have garnered many more views and upvotes.

That is an interesting observation. I googled it to see what the numbers actually are and the answer came back that the data is limited as the victims seem to not be broken down by gender in a way that allows for comparison between female and male victims.

Less people per capita have been killed by ICE this term than Obama. The numbers look very good. You just saw 2 very publicized people that were shot lawfully. It's a shame they resisted law enforcement or they'd be alive today.
