Do you think the press was given the kind of access they have today at the start of the country when the Constitution was put into place? A lot of press, or rather media, access we are familiar with was given during the 20th century.

Also this wouldn't be a problem if the media hadn't kicked out journalistic integrity and ethics like Trump kicked out CNN, MSNOW, and Politico.

So, just so I'm clear, you're arguing that way back in the day, the framers were dealing with a different style of journalism and we need to change how we view a specific amendment?

Because that's the exact same argument that gun control advocates use. The constitution was written with muskets in mind, not assault weapons, so we need to update how we view the 2nd Amendment.

Actually the Second Amendment was written with having no way to pay for a standing army in mind, so it gave free white men the right to be conscripted into service at a moment's notice and the government was so broke they couldn't even afford to give them bullets, let alone guns, so they had to supply their own and be proficient in their use and maintenance.

Since states have their own funded militias now, the National Guard, and the Federal Government has its military branches, there is no need for the Second Amendment anymore.

He didn’t ban “the press”, many are still allowed. He said those organizations are not invited. They are free to print what they like, no infringement on free speech. The president doesn’t have to cater to their grandstanding for clicks.
