If only I had the time to tell the full complete story (here's the abridged version) of a customer I was somewhat friends with back in the day, who won a national prestige teaching award in the late 80s and was invited to a global UN(?) convention in 1994(? I think?) for the education seminars in Brazil..
And how on the last day the journalists covering it were scheduled to leave and a guidebook was handed out to the educators that had a segment that almost literally said word for word (he brought the booklet in and I saw it with my own eyes + photos circulated the internet back in the early 2000s)
That people with more education earn more money and therefore use more resources, therefore for the sake of the global environment it's advantageous to prevent this.... And then almost immediately educational standards across the world turned to crap.
