Figures that are most attributed as founding philosophers and prominent figures of libertarianism are Murray Rothbard and Ayn Rand. Rothbard was the founding philosopher of anarcho-capitalism and identified with the "old right" an anti-state, anti interventionist wing of the Republican party.
