Even though Trump isn't the most trustworthy person, I feel Trudeau is much more untrustworthy and I'm glad Trump put him in his place after a meeting Trump described as "very productive" and Trudeau's government is willing to take better border security measures. I recently learned Trump's tariffs are merely a threat and nations have the option to negotiate by complying with certain things Trump wants them to do to avoid tariffs. I never liked tariffs being charged because that would of course make the cost of living more expensive but I am all for nations complying with what Trump wants so no tariffs will be charged.
The Canadian government did announce they would consider better border security measures such as drones and helicopters after Trudeau's meeting with Trump and Trump even praised the meeting as "very productive". So it did actually go better than you expected, Trudeau actually did listen to Trump and realize what needs to be done to avoid the tariffs.
I don't think any butthurt anti-Trumper would want to move to Italy either because that country also has its own right-wing populist serving as Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni who is probably further to the right than Trump. She made a law taking away the rights of adoptive gay parents, requiring a child to have the names of both its biological parents on its birth certificate. American leftists scream "genocide of LGBTQ+ people" when Florida bans sexualized drag dances in front of kids, they are of course not gonna like Meloni's anti-LGBT laws any more to say the least. I seem to recall Italy is a more conservative country to begin with.
Yes, he obviously is offended I pointed out that child bride laws are a problem in several states and he even tried suggest I don't understand marriage laws almost like he is trying to deny that child bride laws are a problem and young girls aren't basically trafficked to be made to marry pedo older men. I hear the whole Republican party claim to be the party of stopping child groomers but they actually don't seem to be inclined to do anything about child bride laws and the only places in the country that banned child bride laws are a few Democrat-run states, in fact the U.S. is the only first world country that allows child bride laws. I think child bride laws are a problem as much as Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking rings and something must be done to stop both.
Many states have marriage laws that allow people under 18 to marry, some have 16 or 17 as the legal marriage age and only a few states have 18 as the legal marrying age, I strongly believe the legal marrying age should be 18 nationwide. New Hampshire only recently made the legal marrying age 18 and Republican Rep Jess Edwards made a creepy disgusting argument against the decision.
