This is not about defending illegal immigration, i am for basic border security, this is simply about not having cruel and unusual punishment for human beings. I don't believe anyone should have cruel and unusual punishment for anything considered illegal and exercising one's freedom of movement also doesn't deserve such cruelty.

Here is another thing, the Jan 6 Capitol rioters entered a building illegally and you cried foul over them allegedly being in "kangaroo court" you can't cry foul over that when you fully defend promptly arresting the undocumented.

Breaking covid restrictions was also illegal but that was no need for over the top police brutality without due process. Due process should apply to everyone regardless of which crime they committed also crossing the border without papers doesn't automatically mean they are committing the equivalent of drug trafficking or gang crime or whatever. I do believe illegal immigrants who are criminals should absolutely be detained but I an innocent person who isn't guilty of crimes shouldn't be detained but given a chance to properly sort out immigration papers.
