The "rocket and feather" effect describes the frustrating reality that retail fuel prices rise rapidly like a rocket when crude oil costs increase, but drift down slowly like a feather when those costs fall.

Oil speculators are the cause of a lot of it.

Funny how with gas prices being high when Biden was in office its ok, but with Trump in office its a big deal. Makes sense..

My thing is, that we are still using gas? Who cares if it goes up or down, it is a limited redource it will always go up as we continue using it. We should be using new cheaper available energy solutions. But we keep hugging gas so that people in Saudi Arabia can continue driving Mercedes-Benz.

The US could live independently for 500 years on the oil in the ground of the United States. Drill Here, Refine Here, only Supply to Here. 500 years of $0.99/gallon gas. I'm sure we could come up with something else besides Oil for Gas before then.

I think we already do. They just want to make us belive we are not ready for it and keep us dependent on oil which is a bad energy source. I think batteries are also a bad solution (mining lithium, cobalt, and nickel). There are much better and cheaper options, but that would prevent some people from getting rich.

We don't. We sell it abroad & we don't even have all of our Oil Wells functional. The reason our gas prices go up when there's conflict abroad (especially middle east), is because we import a butt-ton of foreign oil.

I thonk solar is the way to go, and even for space travel. A few years back was reading scientist came out with way to absorbed energy form a type of glass what can be used on windows to power a house. The technology can improve to vehicles. In one day the sun blast thw planet with enough energy to power it for a year.. but what money can be made out of that? Not arguing we have the oil, you are correct on that, but we need to move away from it.

I think we need to figure out the "Magnetic" Drive for space stuff. I think every celestial body out there has its own magnetic signature & space travel would be super easy if we could figure out how to tune to the opposite frequency of that magnetic signature.

Turn it to 101947382.574738.32 & the ship instantly starts moving towards that Keebler Planet for example. Then it would simply need to have a "steer around planets and moons" capacity to get there.

Who’s fault is that?

OPEC because of how they control the majority of how oil moves around the world & how much of it does... Then for just the US Locally.... Every President who hasn't written it into law that we won't use foreign oil.
