I take it you weren't around in the 90s? The Bill Clinton '90s? Be thankful, the only good thing about that error (yes, error) was the comedy centered around Bill (that's Hillary's husband for the members of the viewing audience who do not know). Although it was pretty funny, so it almost made the politics of the decade worthwhile.
My nightly dose of Conan O'Brien thoroughly trashed the heck out of Clinton. Thursdays were the highlight of my week, particularly fabulous, with 'via satellite' interviews with the President. Fake of course, they had an actual picture of Bill superimposed on a pair of lips of someone else that moved, doing the talking.
You need to vary your sources. Your constant sticking into the Right side of this bogus Left/Right paradigm is a bit restricting. Starfleet Academy had a lot more viewers than that, and a majority of them were trashing it not because it was 'woke' (yeah I did see that article, I didn't bother reading it though), but because, first off, like the rest of the Paramount+ Star Treks, it sucks, and in this case it's like a high school kiddy drama, or like somebody put it and now I wish I had copied the whole quote to get the person's name to give him credit, "CW level interpersonal fluff drama drivel." I read an article the other day that said something to that effect as well.
I've heard previous Paramount+ Star Trek shows described as "Star Trek and name only," and besides that the plethora of them is doing wonders to wear their appeal out. Just what they did with Klingons and discovery was enough for them to not even bring them up again till Academy. They went from one extreme to another, and this one just totally cringe.
I didn't watch it, I don't watch any of these as I don't have Paramount+ nor do I intend to.
Another factor in dropping viewership is a lot of people canceling their subscriptions after what CBS did to Colbert..
