My gosh, I did not know about this. I'm looking into it, didn't find anything specific from the police but apparently they can't operate as they have been without permission from the Mayor and the NYPD.

Look for Muslim Community Patrol & Services (MCPS). It's a community patrol staffed by volunteers. They do all the regular religious community volunteer stuff- counseling, suicide prevention, delivering meals, driving around to see if anything criminal is happening.

The only difference between this an any Christian Outreach volunteer org is they have cars that kinda look like the NYPD. They've been in operation since 2019.

I did, even saw their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages, but posts end in 2021.

They look exactly like NYPD cars, as do the uniforms.
Another difference between them and Christian Outreach volunteer org is that we don't have Christian Outreach volunteers here, let alone cosplaying as cops around here.

There is a Jewish group for Jewish neighborhood being harassed by others, and I meant to look at that further, but there's so much you could do when you're searching something else and want to go to bed an hour ago. What little I saw did not indicate anything on this level.

There was a neighborhood patrol when I was a kid around here, we called them paper tigers and either played Hide 'n Go Seek when we saw the passing through trying to scare us while we were drinking our beers, or just pointed and laughed at them. Although not always, because some of them were the fathers of people of friends.

Regardless, they were just dressed like they normally did, driving around in a Dodge Dart, no similarity to the police whatsoever. Although they had a decal with their insignia on the side of the door or something like that, was quite a while ago.

My son saw me looking at some news stories and when he saw Muslims praying like that, he asked me who the fart sniffers were. I can't help laughing when I see it now.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the First Amendment is part of the Constitution. Members of the community have more incentive to protect other community member than the government does. Or are you just shilling for Big Government and that of New York no less?

It's not uncommon for church members to volunteer to help with security at a church. Why should a mosque or synagogue be any different?

Sure as long as it remains on church/mosque/synagogue property. . .even then majority of church/synagogues won't do it inside or outside of the building because of God's intents and orders in both Testaments - The Temple is a house of prayer./My Father's House is a house of prayer.

Church members do not drive around dressed as police in vehicles that look identical to NYPD police cars, save "Muslim" marked on them.
