When a person is right once, they are said to be right. When he is always right, he is said to be far-right.

The question no socialist, communist, or otherwise leftist can answer is “How are we going to pay for what we give?”

...ignore or evade it... hell,

How 'bout the ones that endorse it whole heartedly ?
They must be the antithesis of an intellectual.

I dunno. . .Henri de Saint James' model could have worked if Marx and/or Engels hadn't plagiarized/stole Henri's ideals and twisted it inside and out.

Ignoring or rewriting history is what intellectuals do. They reject hard evidence that doesn't fit their ideas. Thinking is for idiots. Wise men observe.

It is true that Marx and Engels made socialism worse, but it is already harmful in itself, in the case of Argentina, the socialism that was put into practice was not of any specific type, in fact each country invents a different type of socialism, but none have worked.

If socialism is such a failure, why does the US need to interfere with other foreign governments with coups and sanctions instead of letting those governments fail on their own?

Trump questioned the purpose of NATO, and stationing US troops overseas. I guess you agree with Trump on foreign policy.

Why send troops when you can send drones?

"why does the US need to interfere with other foreign governments with coups and sanctions instead of letting those governments fail on their own?" I think drones would count as interference. Also what has civilian death in Iraq and Syria got to do with this, and what does any of this have to do with socialism? Prager, I think your train of thought ran off the rails.

You were the one who shifted the conversation to NATO and US foreign policy. Don’t gaslight me.

Prager, you shifted the conversation. "If socialism is such a failure, why does the US need to interfere with other foreign governments with coups and sanctions instead of letting those governments fail on their own?" Please put down the bong before posting.

Because it was relevant to the discussion of socialism. Why does the US feel the need to cripple every socialist nation when it’s inevitably going to fail on its own like you think it is? Was installing Pinochet really necessary when Salvador Allende‘s government in Chile was doomed to fail anyway?

You are introducing a lot of variables. We could go back and forth forever. Botton line, the Eastern Block had every resource they needed to succeed. Didn't need US. They still failed.

The real question is why do you support it?

Socialism brings out the worst of human nature. Socialism puts too much unchecked power in too few hands. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But, but, but…I’m sure it will work this time

exactly, thats the main problem of socialism, they put power in people just because they are socialist, without any other measure of control.

Looked up "Anarcho Communism." It came from Italy, the same guys that created Mossolini's fascism which also came from unions and socialist thought. As far as I can tell "Anarcho Communism" was never tried on any scale. The problem is you would have to "liberate" private property to give it to the workers, but then people are allowed to own private property. Seems illogical to me. Maybe that is why it was never tried.

All one need do is watch Monty Python's "Quest for the Holy Grail" to learn all one need know about anarcho communism.

I don't think "Anarcho Communism" means anything. It's just pseudo-intellectual BS.

😄 probably why Monty Python chose it for their comedic movie.

The fact socialism does not exist universally across the planet is proof socialism is not human nature.

That explains why the Marxist Maduro in Venezuela is living high on the hog while the people are suffering 90% poverty rate.

So I am not the only one that recognizes the stark contrast in the classes of the "classless" society of socialism? 😄
5 ups, 2d
Correct. So are millions who lived under the rule of the USSR.

Maduro’s Marxist predecessor Chavez promised the people of Venezuela that if they elected him, he would give them free healthcare, education and the wealth of corporations who were not paying their fair share and stealing the country’s resources.
The people are now destitute.
The ruling party is not.

Same sh**, different country.

I don’t know who is giving you Marxist ideas. I’m just saying you should entertain other philosophies and read history.

Communism is all about appropriation, appropriating the means of production from those who built them and transferring the wealth to Party elites.

Not all communists believe there should be party elites.
0 ups, 8h
There are no checks and balances. Too much power ends up in too few hands. Communists don't have to believe in party elites. It just happens.
