A lot of people "deserve" A lot of things. But those things don't materialize out of nowhere. Someone has to organize their production and someone has to produce them.

The proof is in the numbers... lower and middle-income America is worse off now than when Biden took over...

Robert Mugabe tried that in Zimbabwe — redistributing farms from white land owners to blacks. Unfortunately he didn’t take into account that the workers he gave the land to didn’t know how to manage the land. Today, Zimbabwe has no economy. The same thing happened in 1917 with Russian seizure of land and resources. The result was widespread famine.

Most red states have federal bases in them. These are federally funded and includes NASA among others.

The top 1% paid over 42% while the top 50% paid nearly 98% of Federal income taxes. LET THAT SINK IN.

Check IRS figures...get educated & stop spouting opinions without the facts.

Attached for you is a pic of your kindred spirit...AOC. 😜

Joe Biden did that taking out 35 loans against his houses. He reportedly received millions of dollars in this manner.

If you don't like the tax code, get the politicians to change it.

There are no adult conversations in the politics stream as libs get their feelings hurt and run to the nearest Mod to quell the pain via a 2-day comment ban for the perp.

Hilarious.

Perhaps you could institute some system in which only the rich who were born into it are taxed to death, hey?

Because consistently dis-incentivizing those who work their asses off, by giving their hard earned money to slackers, is never going to catch on well enough to pay for all those slackers.

Lazy debunked propaganda repeated over and over is a leftist trait.

I tried to help out by finding some left-wing think tank flatulence that you might find credible, but it was nowhere to be found.

Well, the left-wing think tank part was easy to find, and the flatulence was easy bc it just went along with the think tank part. It was the "credible" that was missing.

Yes, the numbers work regardless of how you feel about them, that's my entire point.

The opinion article you posted doesn't dispute the numbers - it just tries to rationalize them away.

Facts are facts, not opinion. People who believe Joe Biden is a dynamic genius and various repeated hoaxes and disproven lies aren’t good at grasping facts

I agree, which is why I'm confused why you're presenting an opinion article that contains none as a rebuttal to the fact that the poor red welfare states are mostly subsidized by payments made to the federal government by the prosperous blue ones.

There are plenty of facts in the piece. Your inability to recognize facts due to your leftist bias is the heart of the issue. Leftists never recognize anything that doesn’t fit their narrative. I’m not the one who believes a man is a woman because he says he is regardless of the facts.

Yes there are. Facts.
Problem is they don't fit your false narrative.
That's why you haven't posted any other than denials not even based on opinion, not even feelings, nothing, just a simple denial of the facts.

But of course, I'm sure that the reason why Red States are far less populated is because their economic success is just a best kept secret. So we'll not let that out, lest the hordes start moving in and take away valuable real estate property. From tumbleweeds.

I posted the article in question so your response that I haven posted anything but denials makes no sense as usual.

Yes, there are facts - specifically how much red states receive above and beyond what they pay in, and then there's a bunch of rationalizing and denial about how they're somehow not responsible for being federal welfare recipients.

Do you believe in virgin birth? That's not a real thing either.
0 ups, 4mo
As stated 40 states receive higher benefits than what they pay in. That’s without counting all the bailouts received by blue stares and blue cities. Sorry that’s not rationalizing. Blue states do not support red states. They barely support themselves.

Your alt is hilarious, but as stated,

“ In fact, 40 states have a balance of payment ratio higher than 1.00. Far from a dependency caused by state political leaning, it is typical for states to receive more in federal funds than they collect in federal taxes — an anomaly made possible only by rampant federal deficit spending.”

To say nothing of the federal bailouts New York and California have received.

Your balance of payment theory is an overly simplistic rationalization that is debunked.
0 ups, 4mo
It's funny because you can't actually spot a rationalization even when quoting one, and don't seem to know what the word 'debunked' means.

The rich pay the most taxes , In 2019, the top 1%, or taxpayers with an AGI of $546,434, paid $612 billion in income taxes, and paid 38.8% of all federal income taxes. To contrast, the bottom 90% paid $461 billion in income taxes.

They don't care. They want to drain that pool until there's no money left.

We're now paying more on just the interest for our debt, than anything except Defense.

They're so ignorant and short sighted, that they can't even comprehend that all that money currently going for interest could be going to their cherished govt programs, IF they could stop spending long enough to pay down the debt. But they can't do that, because they *might* lose their voting base who relies on them for handouts.

Do those dems run their personal finances the same way? It's none of my business, but I bet they don't. Nobody could be that stupid... right? 🤣

But like drunken Sailors on shore leave, all they want to do is spend and never worry about what happens down the road when the debt comes due and we can't even pay the interest any longer.

Their solution? Just tax "the rich" more.

They just aren't bright enough to comprehend that what seems to them like a bottomless well of "the rich" will run dry.

Sorry, but that's not a question that can be answered until we agree when our nation was at its most prosperous. Once we can agree on that, assuming we can (and that's a big ASSumption! 🤣) then the question could be addressed.

I'd posit the objective measure of GDP growth is likely the best indicator, and so I'd say the 1960s when the GDP grew at an average of 5.1% was our most prosperous time as a nation.

Do you find that acceptable, or would you like to offer an alternative?

Unlike poor people, who out-produce the rich consistently...

I know all about this. I was DIRT poor.

How did I get out of poverty?

Hard work and not quitting. ZERO help from the govt. (poor people ought to give that a try... they might like it)

I wouldn't have had it any other way, because I'm not a parasite living off others thru the govt.

And I am generous. I do NOT need some no talent ass klown from the govt telling me what to do with my money.

To the left I say, stop confusing MY money with YOUR money. They are not the same.

Wrong.

I work two full time jobs, and I don't even consider myself particularly hard working.

And I'm certainly not rich.

I know actual rich people who work more *and* harder than I do. Why they waste any of their time with me is a mystery!

I just decided that I couldn't go on being poor. I was miserable. So instead of relying on my rich Uncle Sam, I figured out how to earn more money.

Once I did that, I saw no reason to work any less than I did when I was poor. I actually work more hours a week now that I'm NOT poor than I did when I was dirt poor.

So, IN FACT, I was motivated to work harder once I escaped poverty, since I could see how my hard work was paying off.

And here's where you really should trust me. If they raise my taxes any more, what's the point of working hard? If I'm going to be dragged down to the same lifestyle as someone who gets handouts from the govt that I am paying for... then what is my motivation to continue to work hard?

I received ZERO notifications that 'Ma_Deuce' had commented & just happened to run across a few of your on target responses now. Hope the libs have taken notes. :)

Was glad you mentioned the Nat'l Debt and how we pay more just on the interest of the debt, etc., and how foolish we are to have let it come to this...(I am not just blaming Dems for the situation as Republicans have contributed as well).

BOTH parties deserve to be shamed and ridiculed for their insanity & dereliction to duty. And both parties should work together to get it paid down. YET, one party decided to invite strangers in for one gigantic vacay ON US, the taxpayers. Now, that is the first thing we need to do...close our borders and buy them one-way tickets home. Then, quit the darn overspending!

So glad your hard work has paid off. I have seen it happen time and again and can relate to your statement re "If they raise my taxes any more, what's the point of working hard?" My husband retired at 43 and decided to get another job but we ended up paying so much more in taxes that it made no sense for him to work. The more you make, the more they take.

I will end this with a quote from you, "To the left I say, stop confusing MY money with YOUR money. They are not the same." 👍 Great thought and advice, for sure!

Thanks vBackman! But we both know libs only take notes on how to destroy our economy and our fine military.

Agreed that both parties are responsible for our debt. Dems don't even pretend any longer that they care about balancing the budget. At least republicans have the decency to lie to us about it! 🤣 All kidding aside, if both parties could have their way on spending, I'm reasonably confident that dems would spend waaay more.

To me, the socialist / communist attitudes on full display in the posts for this meme are hard to comprehend. I think it boils down to whether a person believes they are responsible for their situation versus thinking the govt is.

What kind of horrible upbringing must a person have had to think the govt is responsible for their situation? That's about as un-American as it gets!

At least the person I was exchanging with mentioned hard work... all in the wrong context, of course. But in thinking about it now, I would say that a person in that situation, no matter how they feel about "the rich", should be given credit for working hard. But, I think they should also take that hard working attitude and apply it to doing something that will help them get ahead long term. But that takes time on top of the effort. I think most who believe the govt is responsible for their situation cannot survive on anything but instant gratification. And of course that's just my $0.02 worth.

25% of US debt was added under Trump.

Debt always increases more during the terms of Republican presidents.
0 ups, 4mo
Yes, some poor people do work a lot. As we both know, some rich people don't. Life can be entirely unfair.

I was just telling vBackman that poor folks who work hard should get credit for that. But credit doesn't put beans, rice and vegetables on the table. With that hard working attitude, they should also try to do what I managed to do, and better their situation. Some will try, some won't. It's an individual's choice.

"Also why does the motivation of working always have to be staying alive?"

Unfortunately the reality is that we rarely get to do only what we like to do, and make enough $$ to survive. I would love to be able to make a lot of money working at what is essentially an avocation. Those who do, are very fortunate.

But there is no free ride in this world. If everyone had that attitude, who is going to do the work required to generate the wealth, and the goods / services necessary for those free loaders to stay alive and not work?

Suicide? If you're thinking that way, please call the suicide prevention hot line. The number is 988 (like calling 911.) I do NOT want you to commit suicide. We may disagree politically, economically, and any other 'ly' that we can think of, but I would never want anyone to do that.

And if your statement about autism is intended to make it clear to me that you feel disadvantaged because of that, I will say that I hear you, and of course I realize autism is a huge hurdle / roadblock. fwiw and that's probably not much, ads are being played on the radio and on TeeVee here in the SF bay area that talk about certain careers being well suited to those with autism. The ads mentioned computer programming. In the silicon valley a person doesn't need a computer science degree to be a programmer, and they make VERY GOOD money. Heck, Biden said laid off people should learn to code, so there must be a lot of those jobs available!

As I hope you can sense, I'm doing my best to be positive here. I believe deep down in my heart that those with a good attitude, a willingness to work hard, and the drive to do those things towards a greater goal will succeed. I feel that way about you.

Of course there are those who due to circumstances beyond their current control, are not able to do those things, and I am 100% in favor of the govt helping those folks for as long as necessary.
