Yeah, NOT good. Definitely should be considered one of the mistakes Trump made. It doesn't negate the good things he did, nor compound the other mistakes he made. Just keeping it real. Trump didn’t release them the Afghan government did in exchange for 1000 Afghanis held by the Taliban. After that, peace negations that had made no progress to that point began. The exchange was a signal of good faith in negotiations by both sides. No combat deaths were registered after Feb of 2020 until Bidens disastrously botched withdrawal. So yes lives were saved until Biden took over.

Letting an arms dealer who was responsible for arming enemies of America who killed our soldiers on no way will save American lives, but if your going to trade pick the one that served their country and didn’t repudiate it.
