I refuted your point pretty bluntly. There is a lot of good to conserve in America. What you are confusing is that liberals and leftists are not the same thing (though they appear to vote the same way if there is no cheating).
What I meant by more choices is they are more tolerant of peoples choices. Whereas conservatives look at the result of those choices and try to conserve the good choices from the bad choices.
For instance if we take abortion and set aside whether its a life or not. We are still left with a lot of liberal and conservative thoughts.
Liberals think it should be a woman's choice.
Conservatives know that areas that allow abortion have higher STD rates, and single families, and higher crime rates.
