Oh, I was ready for some randos to be like, “THEN STOP READING THE BIBLE TO YOUR CHILDREN!” or some nonsense, but surprisingly there weren’t.
To any non intelligent beings who are thinking that: I would like to remind you that a name is quite difficult to change whereas religious or political beliefs are pretty simple to change if you want to. Now obviously you could argue that with that argument you could say that if that’s the case teachers should be able to teach kids pronouns, sexual orientations and stuff. But I would object to that with the fact that if you convince a kid they’re transgender and the kid wants surgery that surgery will never be undone, but if you baptize your kid and they decide to become a different religion they would have swapped religions and wouldn’t believe that baptism was a valid sacrament in the first place.
