Absolutely. Strongly grounded principles will guide a person to the correct position or decision about anything, be it politics, business, personal, etc.

Far too often I think we see people take positions that are clearly motivated by nothing more than personal preference, or situational beliefs. In the case of politics, it's usually nothing more than political expediency.

That's what I get when I try to comment on one of the memes in PoliticsToo.

Here's an idea - make that a feature that individuals should be able to control. I mean a nice compromise between shutting off all comments on your meme and blocking someone. As it stands now, "blocking" only means that you don't see a notification that they commented on your meme or comment and you won't see one of their memes in the stream that you're viewing. But, you can still see where they've commented because you'll see "blocked comment (click to show)". I'm too curious, I have to click on it to either send a downvote or reply to their comment.

If we could make it so that certain trolls that you have blocked couldn't comment on your meme or your comments at all that would be perfect. Of course, half of them would just use their alts, so there's that I suppose.
