I agree with your comment about the misuse of the word "hero", Dr.S. I did not call him that but I did call him a good man. And I do think he is a good man who gave up a lot due to his convictions so he has my respect for that but he should not be labelled a hero.
I don't know if you read about the woman whose son was one of the 13 military members killed in Afghanistan? She called in to news programs and literally called Biden out for being such a jerk, would continue to do so and said she still had not cried days after learning of her son's death. As a mother, I am certain I would have been crying 24/7 but that is not how she reacted. We just don't all react the same and there is no etiquette book that covers how we 'should act' under extreme circumstances. She had so much anger for the current administration that she said she would make more calls and one of these days she would probably just sit down and lose it. I still think of that poor lady and all the families who lost a part of themselves that day and I just don't judge them.
Fast forward to the officer and how the military has been trained to never leave an American behind. I mean, the new woke military is nothing like our old one. I know you are familiar with the Army recruitment ad...nothing short of disgusting. Anyway, the LTC probably had just about had it with the CRT/white rage/woke/feel-good required meetings he had to attend and was at his limit. With that in mind and with a side dose of a mandatory experimental jab w/ potential adverse effects for him to even stay in, he had had enough. He had reached his limit and he forfeited his future for his convictions and I just have to say that it was his choice and I respect him for it.
