They're paralyzed because they understand what they've turned into.

Yup, it’s hard to decry what you yourself are. Wouldn’t be Kosher for Bernie and the squad to criticize what they hope to do to America.

Well when the media and social media are all for China (ahem the most successful communist party ever cough cough) - they can't use negative situations and tie it to the same party as China.

Doing so would make Winnie the Po-Jung very upset and they would withhold Marvel Content and new Disney content. The liberals can't live without Baby Yoda and Thanos Memes... So, can't call that situation communist publically.

But then again, Disney Plus is starting to fail

And yet none of their policies are socialist.

Keep telling yourself that.

It's a simple absolute fact.

Banana republics are usually caused by the World Bank doing payday loans to countries with stipulations that they only produce one thing (like bananas), which cause them to never get out of debt.

A fair point!

And my point is this: there is a lot of economic and political misfortune in the Latin America region that doesn’t track neatly with a communist vs. capitalist framework. Many “capitalist” countries in the Caribbean also struggle mightily.

Heck, look at Haiti! Does anyone here know what’s going on with Haiti? 🇭🇹 🇭🇹

There is a big historical difference between Haiti and Cuba. Cuba before Castro was one on the wealthies countries in America, the Cuban peso was 5 cents higher than the US dollar. Cuba had it all before communism. Haiti never had anything from the start. Cuba as soon as they started communism started a fast decline, the result was a country much worse than Haiti. Also gonna post a good picture for you that hope it makes you understand what you are doing.

“Haiti never had anything from the start”

Ha, ha. Hahaha. Hahahahahaha.

You win most historically ignorant comment of the whole thread. Maybe all year!

Haiti was once the crown jewel in France’s empire. Responsible for anywhere between 25 and 50 percent of its entire GDP.

Intervening political circumstances led in large part by some notable continental-based country in the Western Hemisphere (not naming names) had something to do with the total plundering of Haiti thereafter. Can you guess what they were?

Where am I going with this? What’s the Haiti-Cuba connection?

Matter of fact: What’s the Haiti-Cuba-Iran connection? We can broaden this out a bit.

Ripping also from the headlines of today: what’s the Haiti-Cuba-Iran-Afghanistan connection?

We’ll pull in one more country for the Boomers in the room. What’s the Haiti-Cuba-Iran-Afghanistan-VIETNAM connection?

Okay, now I might as well just say it, but I’ll pose the question anyway.

WOW you dont know what context is if context smacked you in the face.  "crown jewel in France’s" Really?! That was not Haiti who was rich but the french slaving them and taking all their riches, big difference. What does something that happened in the 1600s have to do with current events? You are the one that posted a Haiti to Cuba comparison meme. Paid troll newb.

Didn’t read the link or do your own research, did you?

1700s-1800s. Not 1600s lol! At least get your centuries right!

Haiti was rich — the wealth was distributed VERY unevenly, due to slavery, which was the reason for Toussant Louverture’s revolt. But, it was rich. It had exports galore. It had all the elements needed to succeed as a free and independent state modeled on the American Revolution, which is what it was. The second successful anti-colonial revolution in the Western Hemisphere.

It was hobbled by one crippling fact — America was still a slaveowning country and many were determined to see it fail, or else its shining success would inspire slave revolts in the States.

The U.S. has also intervened in Haitian affairs under dubious pretenses at other points in its history, including a decades-long occupation.

Of all the disgusting things America has done in its history, the complete backstabbing of Haiti has gotta be up there as one of the absolute worst. It dovetails with our own original sin of black enslavement.

How’s that for some Critical Race Theory (TM).

You literally just proved our point. It was interfered with. Cuba was not (until communism)

You missed that point somewhere above.

Cuba *was* interfered with. The country had a U.S.-backed dictator right before the Cuban Revolution. What do you think helped Castro persuade people to follow him and his insane nonsense? He successfully posed as a champion of the people against a brutal foreign-backed regime.

And Castro relentlessly demonized and scapegoated the U.S. for decades to come to help scare his people and maintain his power. And frankly, with all the assassination plots and Bay of Pigs fiascos and ongoing embargos, he wasn’t entirely wrong. (It’s not paranoia when they’re really out to get you!)

Same exact stuff with the Iranian Revolution that toppled the U.S.-backed Shah.

Check the other examples I listed above for similarities. And there are so so many more in history.

When the U.S. intervenes it invites radical “freedom fighters” of whatever political description to take over.

Apparently this lesson *still* hasn’t been learned! So it bears repeating.

Without deducting any share of blame from the Castros, who were awful corrupt authoritarians and economic nitwits, the current state of Cuba must also be seen as a legacy of failed U.S. policy.
2 ups, 3y
Actually just before their old leader was "ousted" (he left) the US sided with Castro over him over his dictatorship and Castro's lies

Cuba needed a different leader, but Castro was the wrong guy

You just proved his point how Hati didn't have it from the start

After Hati split into Hati and the Dominican Republic, they knew that was the nail in the coffin for their country

It also has nothing to do with Medieval History and the battle between the Vatican and so-called “antipopes” that arose at various times to challenge their authority.

Or does it?

No that's impossible. The electors decided the president, not the voters.
The best we can hope for is Biden being impeached and Kamala bumbling her way in.

But why would you want a President that won fair & square to be impeached since Day 1? Isn’t that what the Democrats wanted to do? Overturn an election?
1 up, 3y
60% discrepancy between the Georgia audit and recount. Enough to sway those electors. Just waiting for all the audits to finish before we demand impeachment.
