There's plenty of empty land in Nevada, Arizona that nobody seems to be interested in. . .there's a large chunk of land in Africa in the Sahara region that nobody is interested in either. There's also the Arctic and Antarctica that's very lacking in human population.

I actually have no idea which one you mean. Neither is acceptable. I don't know if you mean that the US Flag is sacred and less acceptable, or that you mean people accept one over the other.

There have been a few random American Flag burnings, but nothing large scale. I think the same has happened with PRIDE flags. I think even the people who would do it realized that they are pissing people off, even on their own side when they burn something with such symbolic meaning. While you shouldn't necessarily change your message based on how people will react, you should at least think about whether your message might penetrate further if delivered differently.

I think that burning the American flag could be conveyed as objection to American policies and not hate for what it stands for, while I don't know that you could make the same case for the PRIDE flag since it only represents people, not a political entity.

The flag change in 1960 still kept the idea, look, premise, etc, because that's what our flag (once again) stands for. We shouldn't change our flag because a few people complain, and want a new one changed into their "ideals", that's disrespectful to both our country and people.

Nothing disrespectful about it. Mississippi completely overhauled their flag last year, and everyone agreed that was a good thing.
It's a legitimate suggestion.
That said, just because it's a legitimate idea doesn't mean it should be carried out, and certainly not on a whim.

It shouldn't be carried out, because it doesn't show the ideals of our nation, trust me I have seen the "reasons" they want it changed. The only changes we need on our flag is maybe another star if we get another state.
