Censorship occurs in the politics stream, too, believe it or not.

1. De jure censorship: Imgflip will censor the most extreme/violent political content, because the site mods here have higher standards than extremist havens like 8Chan and Stormfront and Parler and Gab.

2. De facto censorship: Liberal opinions are hard to spot on the politics stream because liberal memes *never* make front-page no matter how clever, articulate, or factual, due to the biases of this stream’s user-base. Liberal comments are frequently downvoted to oblivion and always trolled. And even searching politics memes by “New” isn’t a great way of finding liberal content because the stream is every day cluttered with off-topic Minecraft and homework memes for mysterious reasons.

Ergo, PoliticsTOO exists as a stream on Imgflip where liberal opinions can actually be seen and heard.

Worth noting that explicitly right-wing streams like conservatives and FirearmFriendly exist, and they practice their own PoliticsTOO-like non-viewpoint-neutral moderation strategy.

Also worth noting that I mod political streams that have no stated viewpoint, such as Politics_Redux where right-wing memes will be featured if submitted.

I don’t have the right to subject the conservatives stream to an endless torrent of liberal commentary.

I don’t have the right to spam the Christian-Clean-Meme stream with Satanic imagery or bikini girls.

I don’t have the right to feature memes that aren’t darkly humorous in Dark_Humour.

I don’t have the right to spam cat memes in the dogs stream or dog memes in the cats stream.

It’s really that simple. In order for the distinction between streams to have any meaning, and for distinct communities on Imgflip to exist, stream mods have to be able to set descriptions and enforce terms.

So, your efforts to spam and derail PoliticsTOO with viewpoints that are routinely heard elsewhere on Imgflip (and indeed right here on politics) will be dealt with by me and the other stream mods the same way as the above examples.

You haven’t really thought about what I’ve said or considered the multiple examples I’ve offered. You promote the political equivalent of posting dog memes in the cats stream and vice-versa. A naive stance but typical of someone who has never been responsible for modding a stream in his life.

Under your system, anarchy would reign, and we’d may as well move back to the days when Imgflip only had one stream and no distinct sub-communities for related content, which some old-school users still seem to be nostalgic for, but in the year 2021 would make it no different than its competitor dime-a-dozen meme sites.

The moderation method I use on PoliticsTOO is different from the method I use on Politics_Redux and political_jokes. I don’t hide the ball, either: it’s all right there in the stream descriptions. If you don’t trust me and think those stream descriptions are a lie, that’s your prerogative. You don’t have to contribute to any stream I mod.

As I stated the problem isn’t with the stated goal it’s with your biased interpretation. Define moderator and the root word moderate. No where in those definitions will it say you should operate from a biased perspective and take sides. You do that all the time and forgot what moderator means.
