I know we are on opposite parties, but that's a FACT. The thing is, Dems are luring students in with the promise of lowering student loan but making them pay more taxes in adulthood.

I think now the point is to get a degree that won't get you a good job (an Art History degree, for example) and then whine until somebody pays your bills for you.

The key element of that, of course, is getting someone to pay your bills for you, which is the cornerstone of the Socialist mentality.

Simple: don't go to college and teach yourself

I agree. For many good paying careers, a college degree is not required. Certainly not one from a prestigious school (which charges a lot more) or on a more modest scale, even an out of state school.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a college degree. Hell, I recommend them! But there's also no reason to mortgage your future to get one, then sit around and whine and cry, trying to get others who may have figured out how to pay / work their way through school, or have paid their loans off already, or who never went to school in the first place, to pay back your loan for you.

What you have to remember that back in the early 60's, you could discipline your child, failure was not rewarded and the news media reported what happened and not why they believed it happened. This gave the people the idea that nothing is handed to you for free.
