Man, get out of there. Come to Florida. Paradise baby. Beaches, arts, sports, conceal carry, casinos, and FREEDOM. Oh yes no income tax.

What's happening in Texas IS people dying because of climate change. The changes because of global warming have weakened the Jet Stream, which means that you get more Arctic Vortex weather in places that don't usually get it.

I just ate a sandwich so there’s not world hunger.
I have a job so there is no unemployment.
I have tons of money so there is no poverty.

I guess state wide weather (that extends into multiple other southern states) only applies to one person...

Lol again, think globally. And over time. You’ll get there once you accept science.
0 ups, 3y
That's "THE SCIENCE" to you Buddy. Ask no questions and don't you friggin' forget it!

Ok, *globally* there has been minimal evidence of rising seas or any other symptom of global warming. Al Gore said that the Maldives would underwater in ten years. That was thirty years ago, and I'm pretty sure they're still there.
2 ups, 3y,

F**k al gore. Look at the science.
3 ups, 3y,
1 reply
Ok, here's the science: the only place where the seas are actually rising is the island chain of Tuvalu, where there is a subversive plate, so, instead of seas rising, those islands are actually sinking. Next!

Go further. Like CO2 levels. UV levels. Freshwater levels. More frequent storms. Floods. Fires. And so on.

It’s not just melting snow and islands sinking.
1 up, 3y,
1 reply
Well, when rising seas are supposed to be the first side effect, that should be what we see first. Storms, floods and fires are no more common than they were 50 or 100 years ago. The only thing you mentioned that has seen any kind of change are the CO2 levels, which, considering what I just laid out for you, really does not seem to have that many adverse effects. I'll leave you with this fact: one average sized volcanic eruption pumps more toxins into the atmosphere than 10 years of man-made pollution.

So we shouldn’t try to not add to it?

Dumb.
0 ups, 3y
Oh that's fine, but it's not worth destroying our economy and livelihoods over. There are people in Texas right now freezing to death because wind turbines don't work when most needed. You wanna help with the environment? Then follow in the footsteps Henry David Thoreau and go off the grid. It's possible to live like that. In fact, it would actually probably do you a lot of good. Just don't demand that the rest of us go back to living in the Middle Ages, for the sake of the environment which isn't even in that much danger. If you want people to take your perspective seriously, maybe you should practice what you preach.
P.S. Please don't finish every comment with an insult, you only demean yourself in the eyes of others.

I don't deny the existence of climate change itself, but it's so minimal we have nothing to worry about it, so it really has 0 importance.

you guys realize texas had the chance to upgrade their windmills and their power grids to PREVENT THIS THING FROM HAPPENING. but no no no, they did not believe that climate change was real, so they didn't do this. Who's fault is it? the leaders of texas oR tHe aOc? And also remember when you guys said that you would "start believing in climate change when texas freezes over"?????
1 up, 3y
That moment when Republicans f**ked up and in a desperate attempt to cover their asses they point the finger trying to blame windmills failing because of ice, which never seems to happen to windmills in Iowa. A True Freeze State.

Texas Electricity Mix, Almost 30 percent wind and solar that can not be depended on for peak or base power. Basic Physics! Facts not feelings, So LIBTARDS can not understand this!!
Natural gas (51%)
Wind (24.8%)
Coal (13.4%)
Nuclear (4.9%)
Solar (3.8%)
Hydro, biomass-fired units (1.9%)

Wind accounts for 24.8% of the Texas Electricity mix.

Wind turbine problems accounted for less than 13% of the power outages in Texas.

Let that sink in.

Well played!👍

This would have been avoided had they of bought the model that the manufacturer suggested, but it was $1mil extra per turbine (just speculation of how it happens).

Later that day, "hey guys, how can we line our pockets of the whole budget get spent on the the actual cost of the project?"

Sales guy answers phone,"so what's it going to be, model B as suggested, or model F, made for areas around the equator?"

"Model F, please."

Darko's half-baked conspiracy theory #726

Texas purposefully installed a bunch of ill-equipped windmills which they knew would fail in the winter in order to shriek about them failing in the winter.

:o

That's a sitcom episode! Golden.

Love it. It really isnt a stretch if you can understand that it happens, JUST. LIKE. THAT.

Hook line and sinker.
2 ups, 3y
Right so the fuels you should be able to depend on failed. Gas lines burst. All for more profits for the elites. This is what deregulation looks like. But don’t worry I’m sure tax dollars will be used to fix it. Starting with FEMA.

Obviously, green new deal has more than a few kinks they need to work out before implementing

Just to make it clear, I believe there is climate change but that has happened from the beginning of time. You cannot saddle the global tropical climate of the millennia past or the ice ages of the same on man. These things are direct products of the sun which we do not and never will have control over. We can only go along for the ride.

Our carbon footprint is so minuscule to just one volcanic eruption it's almost silly to even think we can counteract just one. The eruption of Mt. St. Hellen spewed 1,000 years’ worth of mankind's carbon footprint. Volcanic activity is raising and will soon peak with great disasters that all of mankind's efforts will ever be able to remedy.

Now we are in a dirty part of space where there is a lot of debris. There will be MANY meteor showers and quite possible meteor storms. With them come random fires in random places. Both biological and synthetic fires will occur because of forest and field, homes and factories are all potential victims of the unburned portions of these asteroids. This will be over a few years until we finally pass through this debris belt.

Environmentalists are about to soil their pants when these things happen.
On a nicer note, I like solar and wind power for the purpose of being less dependent on the grid but do not see it as a practical replacement for MANY YEARS to come. They are far too inefficient at present. It is too soon to dump fossil fuels. We will not die from them as alarmists seem to want us to believe. The computer models they use are jacked up and wrong. They have to inflate the numbers to get the results they want us to believe.

Relax and go along for the ride. Don’t panic about dying from our consumption of fossil fuels. It is not going to happen.

One last comment on the environment as it relates to my faith in God. We are to be good stewards and keeping pollution to a respectable limit is a good thing. I think that some carry this much too far since even a wood fire which was the norm for thousands of years would be a violation of the modern interpretation of carbon footprint violations. However, we will not destroy the world. I believe that’s God’s job since it’s all His anyway. He promised us that.

Now you can all argue about God and whether He exists and if He does, how mean it is of Him to do what He wants with what is His.

Have a nice day. 😊
