I cry a tear for Jussie Smollet and Bubba Wallace because of their suffering from "white privilege".. And Al Sharpton? He is a victim too, ehh? Given that his eulogies that promote racism toward whites makes him VAST sums of money from honorariums? All of these people.. so poor, such sad little fellows they are.. so sad. Really. Seriously. They are BROKE because of the white privilege forced on them! No fame, no money, it must be HORRIBLE for them.. To imagine what they MIGHT have done with their lives! I'm gonna go out and burn down my own house in PROTEST now because of the horrible oppression of these SAINTS!!!

Well it’s way more fun to call looting and destruction protest than to accept that for equality to exist you have to work just as hard, and be just as friendly, and do something more than whine about how unfair the world is. Guess what, it’s unfair for everyone.

Start an apprenticeship program that only accepts at-risk inner city minority children to train them in the skills they'll need to lift themselves out of poverty because they didn't have a family member in the industry to do it for them.

They have one of those here in Washington state...it's called Local 86 and skin color, sexual orientation,male, female doesn't make a single difference in how much money you are paid.
Start an apprenticeship everyone starts at the same rate after that if you apply yourself the work you do and your ability/desire to take tests to get certified in different levels of the industry dictates the pay you get over the following years... nothing else.

Inequality in employment is a thing of the past...but then again perception is really to some.

I love Unions. No, for real, I do. I was a shop steward. It was great.

Now, looking through Local 86's apprenticeship program requirements.

Nice. How many inner-city kids do you think have reliable transportation? And how many have a working familiarity with power tools?

Given the high cost of those tools and storage needs?

Having early childhood and teen age access to learning the early skills for an apprenticeship program like that is exactly white privilege.

Your family got you your job.

That inner city kid with a single mom who works 2 jobs and doesn't have a car? How does he learn those early skills on his own? How does he afford the power tools?

Like I said, go start a program to help the less fortunate than you.

Local 98 here, we have a massive shortage of Electricians most of our work is in the City of Philadelphia and the "Inner city" kids live much closer than I do.
We have apprentices and journeymen of all races and many of the younger guys just dont bother showing up.
Many of them dont pass a drug test of all races.
Its an age thing, the younger generation doesnt want to work, we had to call back retired guys we had so much work and once the covid ban is lifted we will have work for a long time.

We have programs but the problem is, they dont want to show up...

It’s a good ok boys club where I live. Have to know someone to get “juiced in” like a friend or family member.

People bailing on hard work isn't a new problem. It was like that when I was a shop steward. I remember my grandfathers complaining about it at Caterpillar. (they were machinists).

I dunno, when I was doing my apprenticeship (30 +yrs ago) there were guys fighting to get in, the young guys dont want to show. they have guaranteed jobs .

My Bro and Cousin were UAW machinists too.They Both worked for a while in Del and when they closed the plant my cuz moved to Ohio to follow the job, my bro works with me now(sorta)

You could always join the Biden campaign to oust the orange guy giving us white guys a bad rep.
