I have not actually seen Dems wanting to include illegals in elections. Maybe for government funded healthcare, but not specifically for elections. One is very different from the other, after all.

its very similar to always bringing up ......REPARATIONS! Everybody knows it is never going to happen, even the Dems who push it every election cycle. They do it to pander to the African American community. And the average black voter should be outraged that they are played every year by the same people (Dems) over something that will never, ever, happen.

This is actually a bill that had nothing to do with immigrants, legal or otherwise. It was vastly opposed by the GOP and Dan Crenshaw's motion was a political hail mary to appeal to voters that the Democrats were doing them wrong.

In fact, HR1's primary directives were to push campaign to disclose their major financial backers, overturned corporate spending rights, require presidential and vice-presidential candidates to disclose their previous 10 years of income-tax returns, eliminate the use of taxpayer money by politicians to settle sexual-harassment claims, create a national voter-registration program, make Election Day a federal holiday, replace partisan gerrymandering with non-partisan commissions to draw electoral districts, and limit efforts to purge voting rolls.

I also read somewhere that it would lessen restrictions on mail-in ballots. Namely the need for a witness or reason for requesting such a ballot. A primary contention among Republicans right now.

It is already illegal for non-citizens to vote. Expanding restriction on something that is already illegal seemed unnecessary.

Naturally, the bill is dead in the Senate.

In other words, they still need to demonstrate proof of age, a birth certificate, or a passport which also reflects citizenship. If they cannot, then non-citizens who fail to opt-out of the voter registration at the DMV don't make it past California's voter registry office.

In November 2016, San Francisco did pass a ballot proposition allowing some non-citizens to register to vote in local school board elections only. Again, not state or federal elections.

Media makes mistakes, it does not openly lie. We still have court systems that can sue the pants off people for fake news and libel comments to private citizens. Remember Nick Sandmann? He went up against fake news and supposedly got millions in a settlement from CNN for misreporting the events at the capitol.

The Democrats have not tried every criminal tactic to take down the president because he's still breathing. And murder? Still a crime. I'm pretty sure no Democrat has tried to kill him. At least, no elected official, administrator, or secretary has. But, then again, I'm pretty sure that would be classified. So chances are, you know about as much as I do about that.

Destruction to public and private property is a serious crime, and I'm pretty sure that bail would be denied against those with sufficient evidence to prove otherwise. Most of the people who are being bailed are protesters, not rioters.

I'm particularly not a fan of the CHAZ either, but I don't think Trump's going to do anything to successfully deescalate the situation. Turning the military on them will only make matters worse. But these people aren't advocating the destruction of America. They're advocating the destruction of corrupt government that not only seeks to harm them, but murder them in cold blood. It is worth fighting for, even if you disagree with how they do it.
