The left absolutely, without a doubt, and it's not even debatable, wants a recession.

Who cares?

That says nothing about the meme.

The right wanted the same under Obama. No diff.

Well, here's the 'ignorant-moronic-Hitler-comparison' for today.

Did you know that once Mao took over in China, the economy started doing well... until he murdered 45 million people? That's Trump's fault, too.

Trump isn't Hitler, thank God. He's not charismatic, competent, or ideological enough to break America's constitution. So you just literally admitted that no matter how bad you think Trump is, he /can't/ destroy america.

Oh, if you want to be technical about it, Trump *can* destroy America with the push of a button by initiating a nuclear war. But: I don't think he will.

And I have enough confidence in our armed forces to think that they would patriotically disobey an order from the top to initiate a first-strike nuclear assault, unless there were truly good reasons for thinking we were under existential threat.

What I mean is that I believe America's democratic institutions and constitutional practices are long-standing, deeply-ingrained, and resilient enough to resist Trump's malfeasance, though Trump is testing those limits like never before.

Trump's most rabid supporters are prepping for civil war and calling for the hanging of Democrats on a daily basis. A couple days ago, I encountered a right-wing ImgFlipper who wanted to abolish the Constitution.

It's gotten bad. Why take the risk? He needs to go.

Wow. You must live in some kind of demented non-reality to even think the things that went into this post. Sure, I understand that entertaining a thought is not the same as believing it. But you believe it! Seek help. Your TDS is impacting your ability to reason.
1 up, 4y
Please, go on under-estimating Trump. Not about the being able to destroy America crap you spouted, but about him not being this enough, not being that enough... usually not being intelligent enough... to win AGAIN, like he did in 2016.

You guys obviously didn't learn a dayum thing from your failure in 2016, because you are using the same playbook for 2020; underestimating Trump and his supporters.

Personally, I love it, because it ensures four more years of something that will make you want to cry.

Exactly. Tell the guy/gal working at Walmart that the economy is doing great and see if they feel it.
3 ups, 4y,

Sure, but imagine how they'd look at it if the economy was still in Obama-mode, and they didn't have the job at Walmart, but were unemployed, instead.

I guess it's not just people shopping at Walmart that the left now looks down upon... but those working there, too.

It's fairly elitist of you to have that attitude, imo.

Obama's numbers were getting better and better since day 1. Trumps numbers by day in office are actually lower/slower. And the debt/deficit is insane.

What makes you think anyone on the left looks down on Walmart workers. If anything the left is looking OUT for them. Regular working folks are the most important group of people in this economy and they are doing worse than the wealthiest that keep getting richer at a far faster pace. Income/wealth is WAAAAY top heavy. Learn about economics/

I'll tell you what makes me think some on the left look down on Walmart workers, you chicken-S ANONYMOUS poster... do you not recall Peter Strzok texting Lisa Page that he went to a Walmart in southern Virginia and he could “SMELL the Trump support."?

Good grief, I know you're ignorant, but Strzok is one of your own, and you've completely forgotten what he said and did. Unbelievably ignorant of you.

Stock market isn’t “the economy.” Neither is 401k.

How’s the average worker doing? How much have real wages gone up? How many good paying jobs have been created? How much has the debt and deficit gone down?

Well ok...wages are UP...FACT.
unemployment for blacks...lowest on record.
Unemployment for hispanics...lowest in about 50 years.
Non college educated workers doing better % wise than college educated.
Of course starbucks doesn't pay millenials what they are worth so...yeah...that

Why don't YOU, anonymous chicken-S poster, look those numbers up for yourself. You would, but you won't because they're so good.

You guys can fake-cry all you want about how the economy sucks, but remember, it was Bill Clinton and James Carville who coined phrase "it's the economy, stupid" back in 1992. It was a pretty accurate indicator of presidential election outcomes back then, and still is today.

In other words, get ready for what you claim to hate; four more years of Trump, and American excellence!

This article, which comes from hyper-left Vox so someone like you should take it as gospel. should answer some of your questions.

It basically says dems now have to admit that the economy is doing very well, and yet must still try to find some way to spin it to get Trump out of office.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/12/20/21031416/democrats-2020-economy-dilemma-explained

Taken from the article: "The unemployment rate is 3.5 percent. The stock market is at an all-time high. The poverty rate is falling. Employers have started showing refreshing willingness to hire people with criminal records because there just aren’t that many conventionally qualified people left to hire."

(which should answer your jobs question)

All that corporate wealth and wages haven't risen.

Huh.

It's almost like that trickle down theory is total nonsense.

So weird.

I mean, it's never worked before (going back to the 1800's when it was called Horse & Sparrow Economics). I wonder why it didn't work this time either?

So. Weird.

The problem with this article is that it relies on the wrong indicators, as did the Obama administration. They made all the indicators say that we have had an economic recovery, except the most important one: people's wallets. A statistical recovery is thoroughly unuseful and meaningless. Trump hasn't done much of anything to address wage inequality or wage stagnation. It took ten years for most people to recover their pre-2008 buying power. What Trump has done is make the markets perform in a way that has increased the value of investments. Our pay sucks, but at least our retirement funds are doing well.

It might be best to refer to the Obama-Trump economic recovery, as it seems both have played a role. But we're still waiting on better wages...and the healthcare industry needs to regulated af asap.
3 ups, 4y
I'm really tired of the stupid simpleton meme's. Like Trump has completely transformed our world when in reality, it's the same straight line growth we saw under Obama.

Neither party is fixing the underlying problem facing the middle class. Wage stagnation and out of control healthcare costs.

Everybody is pissed, has a right to be pissed, but blame it on either those below them or those above them. We need middle ground thinking and nobody is in the middle.

They want to give Obama credit for the economy, and try to get people to believe Trump had nothing to do with it. and yet they'll hem and haw when you point out that Obama is responsible for the "cages" in ICE facilities, and that Trump had nothing to do with it.

If history has taught us anything, it's that the Dims don't want a strong economy. How else can they claim the Republicans are keeping people down, unless they're unemployed?

Keep dreaming. Why do you guys want a recession so badly? Just be honest for once. I know the answer, so there's no reason for you to continue to lie, and pretend that you want the economy to keep booming, and unemployment to be at all time record lows for all those little identity boxes you buffoons love to check.

Oh wait... 'it's the economy, stupid." -James Carville & Bill Clinton, 1992.
